被検体とセンサとを相対的に移動させることによ
り、被検体の表面状態の凹凸によるセンサとの相
対距離の変化に対応したセンサ出力を得て、この
センサ出力のAC成分を所定の帯域幅を有するフ
イルタでフイルタリングして被検体の表面に形成
された不要凹凸に関連所定周波数以上の周波数成
分を有するする検出信号を得ると共に、この検出
信号の積分出力を基準にして上記検出出力をレベ
ル比較し、この比較信号に基づいて上記不要な凹
凸の有無を判別するように形成したことを特徴と
