Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve adhesiveness by removing at least a part or all of the peripheral border of the photographic emulsion layer of a photograph chemically or physically to disclose a photographic support, and directly bonding a protective sheet to the support to cover the photograph with a protective sheet. CONSTITUTION:A part or all of the peripheral border 3 of the emulsion alyer 2 of the photograph 1 is removed by a physical method, such as using a cutter or ruling machine, and a transparent protective sheet 4, sich as pllyester or polyvinyl chloride sheet, is overlaid on the photograph 1 and bonded with an adhesive 6. Since the emulsion layer 2 is removed and the disclosed support 5 is directly bonded to the transparent protective sheet 4 with the adhesive 6, adhesion is strong and the sheet is hardly peeled even if it is immersed in water.

(Prior Art) Identification cards, cards, and the like on which photographs are pasted have a disadvantage in that the surface of the photograph is easily scratched because the physical strength of the gelatin layer (emulsion layer) of the photograph is weak.

In order to improve this shortcoming and to prevent the face photo affixed to ID cards and cards from being replaced, conventional methods have been used to prevent ID cards and cards from being replaced, as shown in Figures M1 to 3. Transparent protective film B is pasted on top of photo A with adhesive 6.

(Problems to be Solved by the Invention) The method shown in FIG. 1 is the easiest to manufacture, but it has the disadvantage that the adhesive between the photo A and the transparent plastic sheet H is poor and it easily peels off. In other words, the main component of the photosensitizer in photographic paper C or photographic film is gelatin, which has the property of absorbing water and swelling. This has the disadvantage that the gelatin layer (emulsion layer) on the outer periphery of the product absorbs water and peels off. In particular, the emulsion layer of a color photograph has a multilayer structure and is thick, so it has the disadvantage of being easily peeled off.

The one shown in Fig. 2 improves the viewing defect shown in Fig. 1 and is effective for protecting photo A, but since the sizes of the protection sheets (Ba, Bb) and photo A are different, As shown in FIG. 2, the thickness of the outer peripheral portions Ea and Eb is thinner than the other portions, and there is a drawback that a product with uniform thickness cannot be obtained. This not only has an unsightly appearance, but also has the problem of not being usable for products that require machines to read magnetic tapes, such as cash cards and credit cards.

(1) Since the support 5 and the transparent protective sheet 4, which are exposed to the outside after the photographic emulsion layer 2 has been removed, are directly bonded with the adhesive 6, the bond is strong and does not peel off even when immersed in water. It's hard to do.

(2) When the photographic emulsion layer 2 is partially removed as shown in FIG. Protective sheet 4
Good adhesion can be obtained since the transparent protective sheet 4 is directly adhered to the transparent protective sheet 4, and thus the transparent protective sheet 4 is easily peeled off. In this case, it is possible to obtain a pattern that extends to the outer periphery. (3) The thickness of the photographic emulsion layer 2 is 0.005W~0.0
Since the thickness is about 2 mm, the change in thickness caused by removing the photographic emulsion layer 2 can be almost ignored. Moreover, since this reduced thickness is compensated for by the adhesive 6 that adheres the transparent protective sheet 4, the photographic product of the present invention has a uniform thickness all the way to the outer periphery and has good adhesive properties.

(6) If the necessary printing such as a predetermined pattern, text, ground pattern, etc. is applied to the transparent protective sheet 4 in advance, and the printed side is attached to the photo 1 side, the wear resistance of the printed text, pattern, etc. will be outstanding. In addition, it is also possible to prevent falsification of characters.
