Abstract

PURPOSE:To discriminate the kind of a recording medium easily by forming a reflector changing its reflection factors in accordance with a part of kinds in a recording medium cartridge including plural kinds of recording media having different driving conditions and detecting the reflected light from the reflector. CONSTITUTION:The potential levels of respective inverted input terminal (-) of comparators 12, 14 are adjusted by variable resistors 13, 15 so that the potential levels are adjusted to a voltage value V1 between the output value Va of a pre-amplifier 11 when a reflection seal has 0% reflection factor and the output value Vb of the pre-amplifier 11 when the reflection seal has 25% reflection factor and to a voltage value V2 between the output value Vb and an output value Vc outputted from the pre-amplifier 11 when the reflection seal has 50% reflection factor. The comparators 12, 14 compare the voltage values of the inverted input terminals (-) with the voltage values of non-inverted input terminals (+) connected to the outputs of the pre-amplifiers 11. ク、1回のみ記録が可能なりRAWタイプディスク、消
去可能で複数回にわたって記録再生が可能なE −DR
AWタイプディスク等のディスクが有るが、これらのデ
ィスクは記録、再生、消去のための基本的な構成はほぼ
同じであり、共通な駆動装置を利用する事が考えられる
。しかし各々のディスクの表面の反射率の違い及び再生
原理の違い等で、各々のディスクによって駆動□条件を
変えなければならないために共通な駆動装置で動作させ
るには、ディスクの識別が必要となる。

る。本発明によれば、駆動条件の異なる複数種類の記録
媒体を共通の情報記録再生装置で駆動することが可能と
なる。

設定された反転入力端子(ハ)の電圧値と前置増幅器1
1の出力と結びつけられた非反転入力端子(ト)の電圧
値との比較を行なう。反射率0%の反射シールを付けた
ROMタイプディスクの場合はva<vl〈v2である
から比較器12.14の出力はともにLowレベルとな
り、反射率25チの反射シールを付けたDRAWタイプ
ディスクの場合はVl< Vb < V2であるから比
較器12の出力はH1ghレベル、比較器14の出力は
