Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は、四肢の筋肉の訓練法に関し、特に運動の性格
の変化を容易にしながら広範囲の大ぎさの脚および腕に
対する取付けが比較的容易な装置による脚および腕の筋
肉の運動を行なうための斬新な装置および方法に関する
。本発明は、未習熟な者にも使用が比較的容易であり、
運動中ユーザが他の動作を行なうことを可能にするもの
である。
膝部の手術後に、回復期において不活動な状態にある脚
の筋肉を強化する身体の療法で患者を処置することが一
般的である。また、健康な人間においても、体育競技の
技能を強化し、けがの防止に役立ち、また公共の福祉の
ためにこれらの筋肉を強化することが望ましい。この目
的のため、足関節に取付ける錘り、または端部で脚部に
取付けるリングを有する重錘またばばね荷重を掛けた線
条の如き多くの運動器具が入手可能である。これらの従
来技術の多（の試みは、使用のため場所を要すること、
運動する筋肉に制約のあること、使用が不便であること
等の多くの欠点を有する。
本発明の重要な目的は、四肢の運動のための改善された
装置および用法の提供にある。
本発明によれば、膝部より上の脚部と係合するための上
部装置と、膝部の下方の脚部と係合する下部装置と、前
記上部装置を下部装置に枢動自在に取付ける装置とを備
えた脚部支持器（プレース）が提供される。前記上部装
置を関節上方の脚部に対して固定しかつ下部装置を関節
下方の脚部に固定する時、脚部の下部分を下方へ運動さ
せるとげね装置を伸長させるように、前記上部装置と下
部装置を弾性的に相互に連結するため上部ばね装置を支
持するように枢動自在に取付けろための装置の上方に延
在する支点支持装置がある。また、下肢部分を持上げる
と第２のばね装置を伸長させるように前記上部装置と下
部装置を枢動自在に結合する装置の下方において相互に
結合する第２のばね装置もある。前記第１のばね装置に
抗して働く筋肉を強化する第１の組の運動と、第２のば
ね装置に抗して働く下肢の筋肉を強化する第２の組の運
動とを行なうことを可能にするように、第１と第２のば
ね装置が前記上部装置と下部装置に対して取外し自在に
固定することができることが望ましい。
本発明の多くの他の特徴、目的および利点については、
図面に関して以下の記述を照合すれば明らかになるであ
ろう。
次に図面において、就中第１図および第２図にはそれぞ
れ脚部を伸長し収縮させた状態で脚部に対し取付けられ
た本発明の一実施例の斜視図が示され、また第１図およ
び第２図の実施例の側面図および平面図である第５図お
よび第４図においては脚部から取外した状態の第１図お
よび第２図の実施例が示されている。本発明は、上部ロ
ッド１２に対して固定したパッドを設けた脚部支持部を
含んでいる。同様のパッドを設けた下部の脚部支持部材
１３は下部ロッド１４に対して固定されている。下部ロ
ッド１４は、頂部において上部ロッド１２の下端部に対
して固定された枢着部材１５に枢着され、これにより上
部および下部は脚部に取付けられた時枢着軸心が膝部の
関節軸心に対して略々対応するように枢着される。
Ｕ字形部材１６が上部ロッド１２と鈍角をなす枢着部材
１５から上方へ延在している。部材１６の脚部は枢着軸
心１８“の上方に配置されたボルトφワッシャ・、ｚ、
　ＩＪ−ブの組立体１７を支持して上部の弾性部材２１
に対する支点を規定する。部材１６は、下肢の周囲によ
（嵌合するためプレースを緩めあるいは締付けるように
調整することができる。
横断ロッド２２はロッド１２の上端部に対して固定され
、両端部において上部スタッド２３と下部スタッド２４
を支持する。同様に、横断ロッド２５は下部ロッド１４
に対して固定されて上部スタッド２６と下部スタッド２
７とを支持する。上部ばねバンド２１は、各端部におい
てスタッド２３および２６を囲繞する環部を有し、組立
体１７上に延在する。下部の弾性部材２８は、同様に各
端部において環状を呈し、この環部はそれぞれ下部のス
タッド２４．２７を囲繞している。上部の弾性に富むフ
ックと環部からなるファスナ３１、ろ２および下部の弾
性に富むフックと環部からなるファスナ３３、ろ４が前
記上部と下部に対してその各部を包囲するように取付け
られ、脚部の上部と下部がそれぞれ上部材１１と下部材
１６間にあって枢着軸心１８を関節の軸心に略々対応さ
せてこれらの脚部を各部材間に緊締する。ファスナ６１
．３２は平坦な弾性を持たない帯材でよい。
本発明の構造的な構成について述べたが、その作用につ
いて以下に述べることにする。最初に、弾性部材２１．
２８を取外し、フック／環部からなる弾性に富むファス
ナ５１．３２．６６．６４を掛外して、枢着軸心１８を
膝部の関節軸心に対して略々対応させて、上部脚部分を
部材１１間に挟持し、下部脚部分を部材１６間に挟持し
た状態で本発明の装置を脚部に装着する。脚部の幅の差
は入れ千秋部材１６によって吸収される。次に、ファス
ナ３１．３２．６３．３４を部材１１と１３のおよびそ
の間の脚部の周囲に掛回して組立体を脚部に対して確実
に固定する。第１の運動のためｖｃは、脚部を伸ばした
状態で弾性部材２１を上部スタッド２５．２６問および
支点組立体１７上に固定する。次に脚部を収縮させて、
伸縮運動を繰返して適当な筋肉を何回も運動させる。こ
の運動は、座って読書したりテレビジョンを観、る間の
運動となる。運動量は、弾性部材２１によって及ぼされ
る作用力を変化させることによって変更することができ
る。例えば、作用力を増加させるためには、完全に収縮
させた状態で部材２１を短縮したり、太（したり、ある
いは強くすることができる。
弾性部材２１による運動の後でこれらの部材を取外し、
脚部を収縮させた状態で弾性部材２８を下部スタッド２
４．２７間に取付ける。この時の脚部の運動レエ、弾性
部材２８の復元力に抗して伸ばす運動において使われる
筋肉の運動になる。
本発明の一実施例においては、脚部を完全に伸長させた
位置に組立体を置いて上部スタッド２５．２６間の距離
は約４８α（１９インチ）であったが、下部スタッド２
４．２７間の距離は略々４６ｃｍ　（１フインチ）であ
った。上部弾性部材２１に対する適当な長さは、直径が
約９．５　ＭＪ　（ろ７８インチ）の弾性コードの場合
で約４６ｃｒｎ（１８インチ）であった。弾性部材２８
における適当な長さは、直径が約０−６　ｍｓｉ　（１
／４インチ）の弾性コードの場合で約２８ｃｒｎ（１１
インチ）であった。
別の事例として、枢着部１８は完全な関節運動を行なう
ことを許容するものでもよく、あるいは関節運動の一部
を制限するように構成することもできろ。外科手術の後
では、関節の運動範囲の一部の運動に止めて完全な運動
は避けることがしばしば望ましい。この制限は、１つの
枢着部にスタッドを植えることによって行なうことがで
きる。
運動を制限した枢着部を備えたプレースが入手可能であ
る。
更に別の例として、ロッド１２と１４は構造を更に簡便
にして携帯可能にするため入れ千秋にすることりできる
。この入れ子ができることは、また異なる長さの下肢を
収容する点に関しても有効となる。
部材１６は、円形、楕円形その他の形状のような色々な
形状をとることができ、また下肢の幅の差を吸収するこ
とができる。これは、滑り、重合わせ、ねじその他の調
整手法によって調整することができる。これはまた入れ
千秋部材でもよい。
支点組立体１７は部材１６またはロッド１２に対して取
付けることもでき、あるいは枢着部１５の延長部とする
こともできる。構造的な構成は、弾性体もしくはばねの
如き弾性部材を支点上に伸長させるため下肢の筋肉を有
効に使用する概念を盛込んでいる。
本発明は、肘の関節の周囲に運動する腕および膝の関節
の周囲に運動する脚部を強化するために使用することが
できる。本発明は、手の助けを要さずに本装置が取付け
られた下肢が個々に運動することを許容するものである
。
本発明は更に他の形態において実施することもできる。
例えば、弾性部材はコイルばねでもよく、あるいは多（
の異なる位置に多くの異なる形態で、例えば枢着軸心１
８の周囲に輝線ばねを取付けることもできろ。例えば、
弾性部材は内側から外側に向けであるいはその反対方向
に上方または下方に交差させて、上部スタッド２６と下
部スタンド２７間、あるいは下部スタッド２４と上部ス
タッド２６間に結合することもできる。この上下の部分
をそれぞれ脚部の上下の部分に対して固定するためには
多くの手法を用いることができる。当業者は、本発明の
概念から逸脱することなく、他の多（の用途、本文に述
べた特定の実施態様の変更が可能であることは明らかで
あろう。従って、本発明は本文に記載した装置８よび方
法において存在するあらゆる斬新な特徴およびその斬新
な組合せを包含し、かつ頭書の特許請求の範囲によって
のみ限定されるものと考えるべきである。

    前記下部手段間に結合されて、下肢の筋肉が働く前記枢
    着手段の軸心の周囲にトルクを作用させろ弾性手段とを
    設けることを特徴とする下肢運動装置。 ２、前記枢着軸心の上方にあって前記弾性手段からなる
    弾性部材を受止める支点手段を設け、前記弾性部材が、
    前記上部手段と前記下部手段間に結合されて前記支点手
    段上に伸長させられることを特徴とする特許請求の範囲
    第１項記載の下肢運動装置。 ３、前記上部手段と前記下部手段とが、前記弾性部材の
    端部が取付けられるスタッド手段を有することを特徴と
    する特許請求の範囲第２項記載の下肢運動装置。 ４、前記スタッド手段が上部と下部のスタッド手段から
    なり、 該下部スタッド手段は、前記下肢の伸長運動が弾性部材
    を伸長させるように前記弾性手段からなる弾性部材を受
    止めるためのものであることを特徴とする特許請求の範
    囲第５項記載の下肢運動装置。
