As shown in Fig. 1, a conventional water temperature meter unit has a disc-shaped thermistor element 1 with electrodes provided on the top and bottom, and one end of the thermistor element 1 is soldered to the bottom of the inner surface of a hollowed-out metal case 2. Generally, the lead wire 3 is taken out from the other end of the metal case 2 by soldering, and the opening of the metal case 2 is sealed with an insulating resin 4. This unit is mainly used to measure the temperature inside automobile radiators, but due to its structure, there are some concerns about its vibration resistance.

Next, the present invention will be explained using examples with reference to FIGS. 2 to 4. After granulating the thermistor material with a known Mn-Ni-Cr composition and molding it using a mortar-type mold,
It was fired in air at 1250°C for 2 hours. Electrodes are placed on the entire inside of the element recess and on the outside. FIG. 2 shows this cylindrical mortar-shaped thermistor element 5 having a negative temperature coefficient, and electrodes 7 are provided on the inner and outer surfaces of the thermistor element 6. The thermistor element 5 has an outer diameter of 5 mmφ, a height of 5 mm, an inner diameter of 3 mmφ, and a depth of 4 mm. On the other hand, as shown in Fig. 3, the metal case 8 is made of brass, for example, and has a diameter of 2.9 mm at the bottom of its inner surface.
It is hollowed out leaving a convex portion 9 with a diameter of φ and a height of 5 mm.
Additionally, the outer upper part of the case 8 is threaded for mounting a radiator. Then, as shown in FIG. 4, the concave portion of the element 5 is fitted into the convex portion 9 of the metal case 8 and soldered to make the convex portion 9 conductive to the metal case 8. Next, a lead wire 11 with a metal disk 10 of 3 mm diameter is soldered to the other end of the element 5 to hold down the element 5, and the lead wire 11 is taken out of the metal case 8 as the other terminal. . The opening of the metal case 8 is made of insulating resin 12 as before.
The lead wire 11 from the element 5 side was removed and sealed. The resistance value of this water temperature meter unit is 40±0.2℃
600Ω at temperature, 77.0Ω at 100±0.2℃. As a result of vibration testing of this water temperature meter unit in accordance with JIS and D1601, the rate of change in resistance value after the test was ±5% compared to when using a 1.7 mm thick disk type thermistor element.
The improvement was within ±3.2% compared to . Furthermore, as a result of conducting severe vibration tests, out of 50 disk-type thermistor elements tested, 10 had disconnections at the bond between the metal case and the element, and 4 had disconnections at the bond between the element and the lead wire. In the devised unit, only two disconnections occurred between the element and the lead wire bond under the same test conditions.
