用されるシャドウマスクにおいて、その孔径は、第1図
、第2図に示す如く中央から周辺にかけて同一孔径かも
しくはなだら力為に減少させていた。このとき、シャド
ウマスク1の孔の設けである有効孔部2はそれ以外の非
有効孔部3に比べて等価板厚が20〜50チ薄くなる。

ホール径が小さくなる点は、最外縁部の6列以内の領域
であるため、実用上値光膜品位、ピユリティ等に対し、
何ら影響はなく、より優れた螢光膜全もつカラー受像管
を提供できる。また、本発明は以上の説明からポジイテ
ィブガードバンド型ドツトタイプカラー受像管にも同様
にして有効なことは明らかであり、同様にストライプタ
イプカラー受像管にも有効である◎
