Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain the detection of line disconnection by utilizing a current flowing to any direction without fail when no line disconnection exists in a transmission line using a differential type digital transmitter to detect the absence of current. CONSTITUTION:A line disconnection detecting photocoupler 5 is connected in anti-parallel with a data receiving photocoupler 3, and the outputs of both photocouplers are connected to an OR circuit 6. Since the differential digital transmission system flows current to any system at all times, either the photocouplers 3 or 5 goes to logical 1 and the output of the OR circuit 6 goes to logical 1 without fail. When a transmission circuit 2 is disconnected or the power of a transmission circuit 1 is disconnected, the output of the photocouplers 3, 5 goes to ''0'' and the output of the OR circuit goes to ''0''. Thus, the line disconnection is detected.

As shown in Figure 1, the receiving side of a conventional differential digital transmission device consists of 7 receiving Otocouplers and diodes connected in anti-parallel to this. , ^ It is used as a system suitable for high-speed transmission and long-distance transmission, and a pair of transmission lines 2 are used in the data transmission circuit l.
is connected, and a diode 4 connected in antiparallel to the photocube 23 is installed at its terminal end. If the signal %lN is present at the input of the data transmitting circuit, a current flows through the diode in the photocoupler 3, and the fact that 'l〃 is rare is transmitted as data. Further, when there is no input to the data transmitting device, current flows through the diode 4, and the photocube 23 is binoxed.

However, there was a drawback that it was impossible to distinguish whether the transmitted data were all 10, or whether there was an abnormality in the transmission line or circuit, or whether the photocoupler output was 10.

The present invention utilizes the fact that in a transmission line using a differential digital transmission device, current always flows in one direction unless there is a line break, and the present invention utilizes the fact that current always flows in one direction when the four currents disappear By detecting t, line disconnection can be detected.
