らに詳しくいえば、羊毛害虫であるイガ、コイガ、ヒメ
マルカツオブシムシ、ヒメカツオブシムシなどに対して
、摂食阻害作用、忌避作用、殺虫作用などの活性を有す
る脂肪族鎖状エステルを有効成分とする忌避剤に関する
ものである。

つて、近年パラジクロロベンゼンに代るべき防虫剤ある
いは忌避剤として多くの化合物又はその組合わせが提案
されている。

5−メチルフェノールとの組合わせを有効成分とする衣
料用防虫剤(特開昭54−3262吟公報)、アセトキ
シムを主成分とする衣料用防虫剤(特開昭54一101
425号公報)、α一位に分校を有する炭素鎖などの置
換基をもつた芳香族化合物を活性成分として含有してい
る防虫剤(特開昭54−110321号公報)、1−カ
ルボンを有効成分とする芳香性防虫剤(特開昭55−1
92四号公報)などが提案されている。 しカルながら
、これらの防虫剤はいずれもパラジクロロベンゼンに比
べると高価であるとか、その防虫効果が著しく劣るとか
、あるいは揮発性が大きいため持続性が乏しいとか、ま
たは経時変化が著しいなどの欠点を有し、実用上十分満
足しうるものとはいえない。

果に優れかつその効果の持続性が長く、その上安全性の
高い実用的な防虫剤を開発すべく鋭意研究を重ねた結果
、ある種の炭素数10又は11の脂肪酸鎖状エステルを
有効成分として用いることにより、その目的を達成しう
ることを見出し、この知見に基づいて本発明を完成する
に至つた。

ルは200〜230℃の,範囲の沸点を有するのて、好

毛害虫の駆除に有効である。

表中の値は試験を5〜9回行つて得られた平均値である
。また、食害率はブランクテストとして薬剤を用いすに
試験した布の食害量に対する百分率で表わす。死亡率は
7日間放置後、さらに自然状態で1日放置したのちの値
である。点200℃以下の全炭素数10の脂肪酸鎖状エ
ステル類(1)、全炭素数11、12のテルペンエステ
ル類(■)、全炭素数12の脂肪酸鎖状エステル(■)
及び全炭素数9〜11の芳香族エステル類(■)を用い
る以外は、実施例と全く同様にして試験を行つォ1た。
その結果をエステルの沸点とともに第2表に示す。なお
、食害率、死亡率は実施例と同様の方法により求めたも
のである。
