The tip of the center electrode is exposed, and the thin ignition part of the porcelain insulator surrounding the center electrode is made to protrude toward the combustion chamber from the tip surface of the mounting bracket, and the above-mentioned mounting is carried out opposite to the outer periphery of the ignition part with a small gap therebetween.
