Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify the molding by a method wherein one die of a molding machine having a replaceable die to mold a plastic molding body and one half thereof is replaced with one half of the other die to mold an elastic seal material on the seal surface of the molding body. CONSTITUTION:A plastic material such as polyamide and polyacetal is injected into a mold 2a of an oil pan, for instance, from an injection unit 1a of a molding machine at 150-200 deg.C to form a molding body 4. Then, after the mold is opened, with the rotation of a rotary plate 3 by 180 deg., the lower half 2a' thereof is replaced with the lower half 2b' of a mold 2b holding the molding body 4 holding therein 2a'. At the position of replacement, the upper half 2b' for an elastic seal material is put together with the lower half 2a' and after the clampling thereof, a synthetic resin material such as silicon resin, polyurethane is injected onto the seal surface 5 from an injection unit 1b to mold an elastic seal material 6 thereon. Thus, a composite article is obtained. This enables the attaching of the elastic seal material 6 onto the seal surface 5 quickly by the molding operation to ensure strong adhesion thereof integral to the seal surfce 5 regardless of the shape of the surface thereby eliminating waste of material.

Conventionally, for this type of composite article, the plastic molded body is molded in advance, and then an elastic sealing material is separately molded, and this elastic sealing material is punched into a desired shape, for example, a ring shape. , a method of pasting the ring-shaped elastic sealing material on the sealing surface of the plastic molded body using an adhesive or the like, or applying a liquid gasket on the sealing surface after molding the plastic molded body. However, in the former method, the elastic sealing material is punched out, which results in material loss in the central punched part, which is not only uneconomical, but also uneconomical. The sealing work is troublesome, and the adhesion between the sealing surface of the plastic molded body and the elastic sealing material is insufficient. Especially when the sealing surface is not flat, the adhesion deteriorates significantly, and the latter also occurs. Furthermore, not only is the process of applying liquid gaskets cumbersome, but the surface to be applied lacks surface smoothness, and leakage is likely to occur. The sealing surface and elastic sealing material are integrated even without
A composite material that improves the shortcomings of the above-mentioned known technologies, which provides strong adhesion, a simple molding process, and perfect sealing properties due to the smoothness of the surface of the elastic sealing material, and which does not waste material. The objective is to provide a method for molding articles.
