However, the process of forming this insulating paper layer into a tapered shape has traditionally involved winding a weighted piano wire around the insulating paper, gradually shifting the piano wire, and using this piano wire to form a sheet of insulating paper in the insulating paper layer. Since this was done by cutting the insulating paper layer in sections, it was difficult to form the insulating paper wrapping layer to have a predetermined taper angle, and this resulted in a disadvantage that the insulation condition at the connection between the oil-filled cables deteriorated. Furthermore, cutting the insulating paper wrapping layer using piano wire is troublesome and has the drawback that the cut surface is not even and may become fluffy. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION An object of the present invention is to provide a method for connecting an electric cable that can be formed so that the cut surfaces of the insulating paper wrapping layer are aligned and have a predetermined taper angle without fuzzing. Embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 shows a state in which electric cables are connected by the method of the present invention, and two electric cables 10, 10' are first connected at their connecting portions. The insulating paper wrappers 12, 12' are later tapered to expose the conductors 14, 14'.

Next, the exposed ends of the conductors 14, 14' of these electric cables 10, 10' are compression-connected with a compression sleeve 16, and this compression connection and the tapered insulating paper wrapping layer 12, 12' in the vicinity thereof are connected by compression sleeves 16. A reinforcing insulating layer 18 is wound across the tapered surfaces 12a and 12'a.

This tapered surface is formed by the cutting jig 24. This cutting jig 24 includes a two-part cylindrical holder 26 that is fixed on the insulating paper layer 12, and a cylindrical holder 26 that is rotatably attached to the cylindrical holder 26 at a distance from the insulating paper layer 12 in the radial direction. A guide surface 28 corresponding to the tapered surface to be formed in
a copying member 28 and a guide surface 28 of this copying member 28
It consists of a blade 30 that is slidable along a direction a and detachably fixed to the copying member. In the illustrated embodiment, the blade 30 has a pair of arms 30a, as shown in FIG. 3, and these arms are removably fixed to both sides of the copying member 28 by bolts 32. Therefore, the cutting edge of this blade 30 is covered with insulating paper 1.
When the copying member 28 is bitten into the outer peripheral surface of the holder 26 and rotated once along the outer peripheral surface of the holder 26, the outermost layer of the insulating paper-wrapped layer 12 can be cut. In this way, the copying member 28
Each time the blade 30 rotates once, the blade 30 is finely adjusted to the left in FIG.
2, the insulating paper-wrapped layer 12 is gradually cut into a tapered shape, so that a tapered surface 12a can be formed on the insulating paper-wound layer 12. In addition, insulating paper wrapping layer 1
2'' is cut in the same manner.Using such a cutting jig 24 not only makes it possible to easily cut the insulating paper wrapping layers 12, 12'', but also improves the finish of the tapered surfaces 12a, 12''a. That is, by finely adjusting the blade 30a along the guide surfaces 28a using the cutting jig 24 having three guide surfaces 28a that match a predetermined tapered surface, the insulating paper-wrapped layers 12, 12'' can be formed with a predetermined taper. Since the tapered surfaces 12a and 12''a having corners can be formed, it is possible to prevent the electrical characteristics of the connection portions of the electric cables 10 and 1'' from deteriorating. By means of an adjustment tape wound around the paper-wrapped layers 12, 12'', insulation paper-wrapped layers of various diameters can also be applied. In the above embodiment, the guide surface 28a of the copying member 28 is provided on the inside (on the insulating paper layer side), but the guide surface 28a may be provided on the outside as shown in FIG.

According to the present invention, as described above, the blade attached to the copying member having the matching guide surface so as to be finely adjustable is rotated each time the blade is finely adjusted along the guide surface to cut the insulating paper wrapping layer. Therefore, it is possible to form a predetermined tapered surface, which can effectively prevent deterioration of the electrical characteristics of the electrical cable connection method, and it is also easy to cut the insulating paper wrapping layer with the blade. The tapered surface of the insulating paper layer can be formed smoothly.
