Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent exhaust from becoming excessively high temperature, save the quantity of using water, and improve the rate of removing smoke by feeding the exhaust of a Diesel engine into a water evaporator after making it pass through a precooler. CONSTITUTION:An exhaust pipe 4 of an automobile Diesel engine 1 is made to run through a precooler 6 before being led to a water evaporator 7. The cooling- water inlet side of the precooler 6 is connected to the cooling-water outlet side of the Diesel engine 1 through a cooling-water feed pipt 11, while its cooling-water outlet side is connected to the cooling-water inlet side of a radiator through a cooling-water return pipe 12. Thereby, the exhaust of 200-500 deg.C is cooled by the water of 60-80 deg.C in the precooler 6 and discharged into the water of the water evaporator 7, with its temperature being held at 100 to 250 deg.C. After that, the exhaust is cooled to 10-25 deg.C in a main cooler 8 and, then, made pass through a filter 9, thereby, removing fine smoke particles.

Diesel engine exhaust soot, especially harmful to the human body, 0.1~
In order to capture fine and light soot particles of 1 μm in size, water is evaporated from the diesel engine exhaust, the water vapor fills the water vapor, and then cooled by the main cooler to achieve an appropriate cooling state. A diesel engine exhaust soot purification device using the so-called nuclear condensation method is known, in which water vapor is condensed on the soot particles to form water droplets, which are made into a size of several tens of micrometers, and then captured and removed by a filter. .

However, in this device, when the exhaust temperature is high, the amount of water evaporation increases, but the exhaust volume is also small, and the flow rate of saturated steam passing through the main cooler becomes large. The residence time is short and the cooling effect is poor.

Therefore, the temperature drop is small, the water vapor condensation rate is low, and the soot removal rate is also low.

On the other hand, if the exhaust temperature is too low, the amount of water evaporated will be small, and therefore the amount of water vapor condensed will be small, making it difficult to remove soot.

In other words, there is an appropriate exhaust temperature range to obtain a high soot removal rate, but in this case, there was no concrete measure to prevent the exhaust temperature at the water evaporator inlet from becoming high, so water evaporation The amount of fuel consumption has increased to about three times the amount of fuel consumed.
The drawback was that the soot removal rate was extremely low.

In view of the above-mentioned drawbacks, this invention aims to prevent the above-mentioned type of diesel engine exhaust soot purification device from increasing the amount of water evaporation and reducing the soot removal rate due to excessively high exhaust temperature. An exhaust precooler must be installed before the water evaporator, and the cooling water inlet side of the precooler must be connected to the diesel engine cooling water outlet side via a cooling water supply pipe. It is characterized in that the water outlet side number is connected to the sill radiator cooling water inlet side through a cooling water return pipe.

In the diesel engine exhaust soot purification device of the present invention, the exhaust gas of the diesel engine (1) is supplied to the water evaporator (7) after passing through the precooler (6), thereby preventing the exhaust temperature from becoming too high. Therefore, the amount of evaporation of water, that is, the amount of water consumed, can be reduced to the same level as the amount of fuel consumed, and the soot removal rate can be maintained at a rate of 90 or higher.
