な状態にした後−この成形用紙をエンボス成型ロールに
て成形するようにしている、このエンボス成型ロールは
円周方向及び軸方向の凹凸なり1aえたもので、上記成
形用紙に連続方向及び幅方向の凹凸を一度に形成するも
のである。そし゛C1上記凹凸を形成した後〜乾燥させ
て湿気′f:除去するようにしている。

形成することによって成形用紙2に無理な力が加わり波
型境界部が薄肉になったり、穴があいたりするのを防止
するようにしている。尚、この予備成型ロール3の数を
増減することは自由である、次いで、この予備成型ロー
ル3にて予備成型した成形用紙2をエンボス成型ロール
7にて本成型する。このエンボス成型ロール7は、第3
図に示す如(、円周方向及び軸方向の凹凸8a、10a
を外周面に繰返し有し且つ上記円周方向の凹凸8a、1
0bの幅を上記予備成型ロール30円周方向の凹凸条4
.5と略同−幅にした雄型ロール112Lと、上記凹凸
8a、10aと対応した凹凸8b、10bを外周面に繰
返し有する雌型ロール11bとの一対からなり、成形用
紙2に連続方向及び幅方向に凹凸12.13を繰返し形
成して第4図〜第6図に示す如き緩衝材14を形成する
。この場合、上記予備成型ロール3の凹凸条4.5幅と
エンボス成型CI−/l/70円周方向の凹凸8a、1
0a、8b、10bの幅及び凹凸高さが略同−となって
おり、従って予備成型後の波型の幅および高さとエンホ
ス成型ロール1の円周方向の凹凸8a、10a−8b、

成型ロールTによる加圧成形に際しては、成形用紙2の

としての機能を充分有するものであるが、更に異なる他
の実施例に於ては第1図に示す即く、エンボス成型通過
後の成形用紙2の裏面17に塗布ロール18を介して接
着剤20を塗布し、その後この裏面17に圧着ロール2
1を介して巻束22より連続的に繰り出した当て紙23
を貼着して片面段ボール24を形成することにより、更
に強固で弾性の勝れた緩衝材を得ることができる、尚、
上記成形用紙2に付与された湿気はエンボス成型ロール
7による成型後の適宜の過程で乾燥除去せしめらnるよ
うになっている、以上説明してきたように、この発明の
緩衝材の製造方法によれば、連続して繰出される成形用
紙を予め円周方向の凹凸条を有する予備成型ロールにて
予備成型して上記成形用紙に連続方向に連なる波型金形
成し、次いで上記予備成型した成形用紙を上記円周方向
の凹凸条と略同−幅の円周方向の凹凸及び軸方向の凹凸
を有するエンボス成型ロールにて本成型して連続方向及
び幅方向に凹凸を形成する構成としたため、エンボス成
型ロールによる成型時成形用紙には予めエンボス成型ロ
ールの円周方向の凹凸と略同−幅の連続方向に連なる波
型が形成されていることとなり、その結果エンボス成型
ロールによる加圧時には成形用紙に無理な力が加わるこ
とがなく、エンボス紙の凹凸境界部が薄肉になったり一
穴があいたりするような事態を確実に防止して、緩衝材
の凹凸による弾力性を確保して十分な緩衝機能を持たせ
ることができるという効果がある〜
