Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain stable head running by arranging a soft magnetic substance in a slot of a recording medium supporting member to which an annular slot is formed and allowing the magnetic recording medium to be supported to the recording medium supporting member so as to cover the opening of the slot thereby making the disc face flat. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic recording medium 10 is formed by forming a magnetic film 12 on a plastic film 11 and the medium 10 is supported while a circular recording medium support made of a nonmagnetic rigid body is impressed with a tension. The annular slot 14 is formed to the lower part of the magnetic recording medium 10 of the supporting member 13, the annular soft magnetic substance 15 is imbedded in the slot 14 to a degree not to be in contact with the recording medium 10 and a gap of nearly 100mu is provided between the magnetic recording medium 10 and the soft magnetic substance 15. A tension is impressed radially to the magnetic recording medium 10, resulting that even mechanical uneveness such as folds or curls are corrected, a smooth face is realized and a stable reproduced output is obtained.
