A cooling decompression line with a first capillary tube interposed therein is installed in parallel with a heating decompression line with a one-way expansion valve interposed between the indoor side heat exchanger and the outdoor side heat exchanger. At the same time, the outlet side of the expansion valve is bypassed to the suction side of the compressor whose capacity can be varied through an introduction line interposed with a second capillary tube, and the compressor is cooled through the introduction line during cooling and heating operations. In the air conditioner 4, a third air conditioner is provided between the indoor heat exchanger and the connecting portion of the cooling vacuum line and the heating vacuum line, which are connected to the indoor heat exchanger. An air conditioner comprising a capillary tube and controlling the expansion valve to the closed side during low-load cooling operation and to the open side during high-load cooling operation.
