Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify a mechanism forming carrying routes of transmission originals and recording paper and to simplify the production of a facsimile device together with improvement of reliability, by attaining partially the common use between both carrying routes. CONSTITUTION:A read/record/paper feed roller 1 is supported freely rotatably within the main body of a facsimile device, and the upper end part of a heat- sensitive recording head 2 is supported rotatably at a place near the roller 1 together with a heat generating part 2a set to the side face at a place near the lower end of the head 2. A spring 3 is put between the main body of the facsimile device and the head 2 and energizes the head 2 to press a transmission original 4 to the part 2a with the roller 1. Then an original board 6 is set on the upper surface side of the main body with inclination, and a paper feed roller 7 is supported freely rotatably at a place near the lower end of the board 6. At the same time, the end part of a separator 28 is supported rotatably. While a paper barrel 5a of the heat-sensitive recording paper 5 is supported freely rotatably in the main body of the facsimile device. Then the carrying routes of the original 4 and the paper 5 are partially used in common with each other, thus the mechanism of both routes is simplified.

In this way, in this facsimile machine, one paper feed roller 1 serves as the paper feed roller for reading and the paper feed roller for recording, which were conventionally provided separately. Conventionally, this head 2 also functions as a member that presses the transmitted document against the paper feed roller for reading, which was provided separately from the head 2. Therefore, the device as a whole functions as a member that presses the transmitted document 4 and the recording paper 5. The mechanism configuring the conveyance path becomes simple, and manufacturing costs can be reduced and reliability improved.

In this embodiment, the recording paper 5 is cut into a length corresponding to the transmitted document by the cutter 10 located in front of the heat generating section 2a based on the document end detection signal sent from the transmitter. Even after the recording is completed, the recording paper 6 remains between the paper feed roller 1 and the heat generating section 2a, and there is no fear that the recording paper 6 will interfere with the feeding of the transmitted document 4 during the next transmission.

Note that, instead of providing two clutches as in this embodiment, the paper feed roller 7 and the feeding drive roller 8 may be driven by independent drive sources. In the above,
The transmission document 4 is illuminated by the light source 14, and the reflected light is imaged on the light receiving surface of the image sensor 17 through the lens 16, so that reading is performed. Instead of the lens 16 and the image sensor 17, a contact type image sensor or the like that does not require a lens system may be used.
