[Detailed description of the invention] The present invention relates to a device for reading pieces of paper such as train tickets, and the upper and lower sides of the paper piece have information such as date and time or section printed on one side as an optically readable bar code. The rotating belt transports the pieces of paper, and at the same time reads the barcode information by optical scanning, reliably transports and reads the paper pieces, reliably collects the pieces of paper, and makes the device compact. The purpose is to promote

In a device that has a collection box at the end of the conveyance section and collects paper pieces of tickets that are conveyed one after another, since paper pieces are extremely light and have almost no weight, it is necessary to use a belt to cover the front and back sides of the paper pieces, especially in the case of the present invention and embodiment. In a device that conveys paper by holding it between belts, paper pieces accumulate only in the vicinity of a place where the belt is no longer held.

When a piece of paper is inserted into the input port of the device, the belt rotates and the paper piece is conveyed and collected in a collection box at the back of the device.During the conveyance, information recorded on the side of the paper piece is read, and if the information is correct, the paper piece is read. One possible method is to let the paper pass through and collect it in a collection box, and if the information is incorrect, return the paper to the input slot again.

In this type of device, the pieces of paper are extremely light and have almost no weight, so when the pieces of paper that are conveyed while being pinched by the belt fall into the collection box at the rear end of the belt, they accumulate in that place, and the paper pieces that have accumulated are pushed away. It doesn't have the power to cut in, and it just piles up in one place.

For this reason, when an incorrect piece of paper is thrown in and returned to the input slot by the reverse rotation of the belt without being collected, the back end of the belt does not fully enter the collection box and comes in contact with the belt. It has the disadvantage that regular pieces of paper are drawn together by the reverse rotation of the belt and returned to the input slot.

This is unreasonable, as the person who inserted the fraudulent piece of paper would not only have the fraudulent piece of paper returned to him/her after it has been read, but would also receive the legitimate piece of paper that the previous person had inserted.

Reference numeral 40 denotes a paper feed motor, and a paper piece feed roller 4
2 is fixed to a feed-out motor shaft 41, and the motor 40 always rotates in the forward rotation direction (the direction in which the last piece is conveyed to be collected in a collection box) during paper piece conveyance operation, and rotates intermittently. As described above, according to the present invention, since the paper pieces are forcibly sent to the collection box, the paper pieces can be collected reliably, and the collected paper pieces are separated from the paper piece conveying unit by the intervention of the paper piece sending unit, and the paper pieces are rotated correctly. By only rotating paper pieces, there is no need to re-enter the paper piece conveyance path as in the past, and even though illegal pieces of paper have been input, regular paper pieces collected in the collection box can be re-entered into the conveyance path and the paper pieces can be inserted into the paper piece input port. This eliminates the inconvenience that regular pieces of paper are transported backwards and used.

In addition, if the collection device were to only allow paper pieces to fall in, the collection box would be constructed deep to increase the number of sheets stored, but in this invention, the collection box is configured to be forced into the collection box by a feed roller that rotates only in the normal direction. Even if the depth is shallow, the number of sheets that can be stored increases.

よって紙片回収箱は小さく構成出来るものである。Therefore, the paper collection box can be made small.
