Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a head rest having excellent appearance and free of remaining the trace of injection port of an expansion mold by a method in which an expandible synthetic resin is injected into an injection port provided in a stay projected from the expansion mold and also an entrance provided in a part of the stay, expanded, and then cured. CONSTITUTION:A combination 4 of a core 2 and a stay 3 is formed and inserted into the lower mold 7 of an expansion mold 6. An upper mold 8 is matched with the lower mold 7 under the condition that the upper end of the stay 3 is projected from the mold 6 to outside. The injection pipe 13 of an injector for an expandible synthetic resin 9 is connected to the injection port 11 of the stay 3, and the resin 9 is injected through the entrance 12 of the stay 3 into the mold 6. After the injection of the resin 9 in a given amount, a stopper 14 is attached to the opened port 11 of the stay 3 projected from the mold 6 and the resin 9 is expanded and cured to form a molding in which skinned expanded molding 9' is integrally combined with the combination 4. Afterwards, the upper and lower molds 8 and 7 of the mold 6 are separated from each other and a head rest 1 formed is taken out of the mold 6.

Detailed Description of the Invention To explain in detail, a combination of a core material of a headrest and a stay is inserted into a foam mold with a part of the stay protruding outside of the foam mold. The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a headrest, in which a foamed synthetic resin is injected into the headrest to form a foamed body, and a combined body consisting of the foamed body, a core material, and a stay is integrally formed.

Generally, when manufacturing a headrest, a core material and a stay are joined together to form a combined body, and a padding material made of foam or the like is attached to the combined body part centered on the core material. The outer periphery is covered with a skin material. In this case, the padding material and the skin material are often formed separately, and the work of covering the skin material, terminal treatment, etc. is complicated and reduces work efficiency. For this purpose, the skin material is inserted into the foam mold in advance, or the combination of the core material and the stay is inserted into the foam mold without being inserted, and the foamed synthetic resin is injected into the foam mold to mold the foam. A method has been proposed to improve work efficiency. Also, without inserting the skin material into the foam mold in advance,
A method of forming a skin material using a mold coat method or an integral foam is known.

However, according to these conventional methods, an injection port for the foamed synthetic resin is formed directly in the foamed mold, and the foamed synthetic resin is injected into the foamed mold from this injection port. Traces of the injection port remained on the surface, severely detracting from its appearance.

An object of the present invention is to provide a method for manufacturing a 7"L headrest with an excellent appearance without the risk of leaving traces of injection ports of a foam mold on the surface of a skinned foam or the outer surface of the foam, which is the outer surface of the headrest. This will become clear from the detailed description below with reference to the drawings.

1 to 4 schematically show an embodiment of the headrest manufacturing method according to the present invention, and FIG. 1 shows a combined body 4 of a headrest core 2 and a stay 3. It is shown. The core material 2 may be hollow or solid, while the steel 3 is formed from a hollow pipe or the like. The core material 2 and the stay 3 are fixed by a stopper 5 or the like, or are integrally coupled by welding or the like.

The lower end of the stay 3 is formed as an inlet 11 for the foamed synthetic resin 9, and the upper end of the stay 3 is formed as an outlet 11 for the foamed synthetic resin 9.
A trap is formed, and as shown in FIG.
1, and the injection port 11 of the stay 3 is connected to the injection pipe 13.
Through the pipe, the foamed synthetic resin 9 is injected into the foam mold 6 through the spout 12 of the stay 3.

In this embodiment, the case is assumed in which the skin material is not inserted into the foam mold 6 in advance, that is, the case where a foam with a skin is formed by integral foam and the outer surface of this foam is used as the skin material. However, the skin material may be inserted into the foam mold 6 in advance.

As shown in FIG. 3, a foamed synthetic resin 9 made of predetermined ingredients
After injecting a predetermined amount of the resin into the foaming mold 6, as shown in FIG. The foam is cured and a skinned foam 9' is molded integrally with the combined body 4. In addition, if both of the pair of stays 3 are formed of a hollow body, it is necessary to attach the plug 14 to each of the pair of stays 3, but if either one is formed solid, the plug 14 will be attached to one of the stays 3. No need to install. It is also possible to form the stay 3 on the side not connected to the injection pipe 13 hollow and use this stay 3 as a vent hole.

The above is an example of the method for manufacturing a headrest according to the present invention. According to this method, one end of the stay is used as an injection port for the foamed synthetic resin, so it is not necessary to provide an injection port directly in the foam mold. There is no risk of leaving traces of injection holes on the surface of the foam of the headrest or the skinned foam that forms the outer surface of the headrest, making it possible to obtain a headrest with an excellent appearance, while also being economical in improving work efficiency. A method for manufacturing a headrest with excellent performance can be obtained.
