The compressor body driven by an electric motor is housed in a sealed container with lubricating oil sealed in the bottom.A muffler is attached to the flange of the lower bearing that closes the bottom end of the cylinder of the compressor body. In a rotary compressor that discharges refrigerant gas into a muffler chamber and then out of a closed container, there is a gap between the lower end of the lower bearing and the lower end seal of the muffler that has excellent heat resistance and refrigerant resistance.
