The compressor body is housed in a sealed container, and the compressor body includes a cylinder block having a cylindrical cylinder chamber, a roller-shaped piston that rotates eccentrically around a vertical axis within the cylinder chamber, and a slit provided in the cylinder block. In the rotary compressor, the cylinder block has a partition plate that is fitted into the cylinder block and reciprocates within the slit while its tip edge is in sliding contact with the outer periphery of the piston, and the discharge gas is discharged into the sealed container. A rotary compressor characterized in that an annular oil groove is provided on the upper surface of the slit, with both ends opening at the upper side walls of the slit.
