In a tape cassette, the front opening of the cassette casing can be opened and closed by a front lid rotatably attached to the cassette casing via a pair of fulcrum pins. One of the fulcrum pins has a slit cut out in the axial direction of the fulcrum pin, and a spiral is wound around the outer periphery of the fulcrum pin in a plane perpendicular to the axial direction of the fulcrum pin. A spring is provided, the inner end of the spiral spring is inserted and locked in the slit, the outer end of the spiral spring is locked on the cassette case side, and the lid is closed by the torsional reaction force of the spiral spring. A tape cassette characterized by being configured so that the lid is energized.
