Abstract

PURPOSE:To process a picture both longitudinally and laterally at a high speed by storing data after one-directional picture processing in a picture memory, reading it at right angle to the direction of the writing, and performing picture processing in this direction during the reading operation. CONSTITUTION:An analog picture data is converted into a digital signal by an A/D converter 11. Then, picture processing hardware 12 performs real-time processing to store the resulting data in the picture memory (digital scan converter) 13 longitudinally. Simultaneously, the written data is read laterally and the picture processing hardware 14 performs real-time processing.
