Abstract

PURPOSE:To make possible to release a molded item having inverted tapered shape bottom leg section without damaging the leg section, by releasing a top force from a liner and a bottom force after the completion of the molding, and pumping compressed air through an air introducing bore in a surface plate. CONSTITUTION:A mold 3 for molding a bowl 1 having the inverted tapered shape bottom leg section 2 consists of the liner 4, the top and bottom forces 5, 6 and the platen 7. The liner 4 has a downward extending projection 8 at the lower end, and the platen 7 has a recess 9 in the center section to correspond to the projection 8 so that a toroidal clearance 10 may be formed between the projection 8 and the recess 9. The compressed air introducing bore 11 is formed in the platen 7, and the forward end of the bore 11 opens into the clearance 10 between the undersurface of the projection 8 and the bottom force 6. After the completion of the molding, and after the top force 5 is released from the liner 4 and the bottom force, the liner 4 is pushed up by pumping compressed air via the compressed air introducing bore 11 to facilitate the release of the bowl.
