従来技術

場合にはキャリヤの連鎖にトナーが付着してなる磁気ブ
ラシが形成され、また−成分現像剤の場合にはトナーの
連鎖よシなる磁気プ2シが形成され、このような磁気ブ
ラシが感光体表面上の静電潜像に接触してこれを現像す
るようになっている。このような磁石と円筒スリーブと
よシなる磁気ロール上に形成された磁気ブラシのトナー
粒子は磁気ロールの磁力の作用下にあって磁気ロール表
面上に連鎖状に付着しているが、トナー粒子の磁気ロー
ルの半径方向や母線方向への移動が少なく、従って感光
体表面に磁気ブラシが接触したときに感光体表面上の静
電潜像の現像に寄与することなく通過してしまうトナー
粒子が相当にあり、高い現像効率が得られなかった。例
えば感光ドラム上の円周に平行な静電沿像とこれに直角
な方向(感光ドラムの母線方向)の静1JL潜像との現
像効率には差を生じ、感光ドラムの円周に平行な像(縦
の像)は太く現像され、これに直角な方向の像(横の像
)は細く現像される傾向がおシ、現像像の線幅の縦横比
