Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a defect due to static electricity by connecting between the terminal of a substrate and leads of back side via through holes, connecting the pad of an IC chip on the back surface of the substrate to leads, then covering with an insulting layer, and further covering with a conductive layer. CONSTITUTION:An external terminal 6 is provided at the prescribed position on a substrate 1, connected to leads 7 of the back side via a through hole 8, an IC chip 2 on the back surface of the substrate is coupled via wirings 10 to the leads 7, covered with insulating plastic 13, and conductive resin of metal deposition film 14 containing carbon or silver powder is superposed. This IC module is mounted on an IC card formed of a core material 15 and a film 16 of upper layer. In this structure, even if static electricity is produced on the IC card, the IC module is electrostatically shielded by the layer 14, and the chip 2 is not damaged by the static electricity.
