Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the high quality duplicating matrix with long service life and no generation of deformation by a structure wherein a rib part to fit to a metal mold and a hole for mounting to and dismounting from the metal mold are provided on the base of a data recording master in order to form said rib part and hole on a plated film without machining. CONSTITUTION:Firstly, the rib 11-1 to fit onto the inner peripheral surface of the metal mold 4 is provided at the outer peripheral part of the glass base 11 of the master for recording data and at the same time the hole 11-2 for mounting to and dismounting from the metal mold 4 is also provided at the central part of the glass base 11. Secondly, a recording layer 2 is laminated onto the glass base 11. Thirdly, plated film 13 is formed onto the master in order to transfer the contents of the recording layer 2 thereto and at the same time to provide the rib 13-1 and the hole 13-2 thereon.
