Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate a pallet for test line use only, means for transferring an engine, etc., resulting in reduction in an installation cost, by a method wherein a piping connecting member is removably mounted on a pallet for supporting and transferring an engine, and the piping of said member is connected to the engine before the engine enters an engine test line. CONSTITUTION:In an engine conveying device, comprising an engine assembly line 13, a turn table type engine test device 16, preceded by the engine assembly line, which forms an engine test line 14, and a despatch line 15 preceded by the engine test line, an engine 2 is conveyed in a condition to be supported on the same pallet 1 through the medium of support members 3. 作業の自動化が困難であるため、エンジンを支持してい
るパレット上の定位置に前記各種配管等の接続部材を取
付けておき、この接続部材に一端を保持されている各種
配管等をエンジンテストラインに入る前にエンジンの所
定位置に接続し、テストベンチでは前記パレット上の接
続部材にテストベンチ側の各種配管等を自動的に接続す
るように構成していた。換言すれば、エンジンテストラ
インに於けるエンジンの搬送には、前記各種配管等の接
続部材を備えたエンジンテストライン専用のパレットを
使用していた。このような従来の方式では、一般的な搬
送用パレットに支持されているエンジンをテストライン
の手前で前記エンジンテストライン専用パレットに移載
し、エンジンテスト完了後にエンジンを再び一般的な搬
送用パレットに移載し直して出荷ラインに送り込む必要
があった。

コネクター122が接続部材4側の対応するコネクター
