CONSTITUTION:A recess 11 is formed around a piston pin boss section 10 on the outercircumference of piston of a vertical shaft type internal-combustion engine which is not communicated with the lower end 12A of a piston land section 12 to make the lower end continuous. Said recess 11 is communicated through a grooved notch 14 with an oil ring groove 13 while the recess 11 and the rear face 15 of piston are communicated through two through-holes 16 to communicate between the oil ring groove 13 and the rear face 15 of piston through many pin holes 17.
