Conventionally, there are two methods for conveying thin steel plates: indirect conveyance using roller conveyors, belt conveyors, etc., and direct conveyance using near motors. The former has lower equipment costs, but lacks high-speed conveyance and rapid acceleration/deceleration. In addition, the latter method is suitable for high-speed transport and rapid acceleration/deceleration because a large number of linear motors are arranged during transport, but it has the disadvantage of high equipment costs.

In view of this, the present invention utilizes the advantages of a conveyance method using a linear motor to achieve rapid acceleration/deceleration, excellent high speed, low equipment costs, and stable inertial sliding. Let's explain based on an example.

The object to be conveyed, such as a thin steel plate, has excellent rapid acceleration/deceleration properties and high-speed conveyance. When placed on the near motor 1, the size, weight, speed, etc. of the object to be conveyed are predetermined, and the necessary conveyance force is determined. A desired conveying force is applied by the linear motor 1, which is designed to be able to provide the following.

As a result, G, such as a thin steel plate, is excited by the linear motor and conveyed while being supported on the guide roller 2 attached to the linear motor.

Since an air table 3 is provided adjacent to and on the same line as this linear motor 1, the thin steel plate etc. transported by the linear motor reaches the top of this air table.

However, although this air table 3 cannot provide a conveying force, it has many small holes or slits in its entire top surface, and the air supplied through the blower and duct is fed through the small holes and slit-shaped air jet holes 3a. Since the air is ejected from the air, thin steel plates and the like can be floated by this ejected air.

At this time, since the thin steel plate or the like has the conveyance inertia given by the near motor 1, it slides on the air table with low friction and stable inertia, and is conveyed to the next place.

A beam near motor 1 is further provided on the other end of the air table to further apply a conveying force to the thin steel plate conveyed from the air table, thereby stably conveying it at a desired speed.

Note that this linear motor and air table may be combined into a unit so that a multi-talle conveyance line can be arbitrarily and easily set up.

In addition, the conveying force applied to a thin steel plate by a linear motor is determined so that the thin steel plate, etc. floats and conveys at a predetermined speed on an adjacent air table, and is transferred to the next linear motor. The amount of air blown out from the sheath, the pressure, etc. are also set to satisfy the above-mentioned conditions.

Furthermore, the linear motor not only applies a conveyance force to the thin steel plate, but also accelerates, decelerates, or brakes the conveyance speed in the conveyance line as necessary.

By combining the linear motor and air table according to the present invention, the high-speed conveyance of the linear motor can be achieved.
By effectively utilizing the rapid acceleration/deceleration ability and reducing energy loss due to the low friction of the air table, the desired conveyance can be achieved. In addition, fewer linear motors are used compared to the conventional linear motor system, resulting in lower equipment costs. Moreover, since the linear motor and the air table are made into a unit and can be combined arbitrarily according to the conveyance line, there is an advantage that a free conveyance line can be obtained.
