Abstract

PURPOSE:To safely feed long articles like copper pipe, by drawing out the foremost one of long articles stacked on reciprocally moved conveyor means correctly one by one through a single reciprocal movement of said conveyor means. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of belt conveyors 8 disposed in parallel with each other at the top of frame 7 of long article feeding means are arranged to be slidable on retainer plate 15 and moved reciprocally by a driving means 9. Further, support plate 16 is fixed in the manner extending across the belts, and stack of long articles is retained at one side by the back plate 14 of the support means 16. Long articles are separated from the stack one after another from the other side of the same by way of reciprocal movement of belts, in the manner overriding projecting member 25. After a copper pipe is fed into V-shaped groove 34 at the feeding section of the machining apparatus, belts are retracted to their original position and wait for the next operation. With such an arrangement, it is enabled to safely feed soft, long articles like steel pipe.
