Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled cell efficiently by laminating two external glass substrates which have plural cell rooms printed with sealing adhesive and an internal glass substrate provided with a scribe line, and dividing individual cells after liquid crystal is injected. CONSTITUTION:Three glass substrates A, B, and C of specific size are used; and lines for forming plural liquid crystal chambers 4 and 4', a liquid crystal injection hole 3, etc., are printed on the inside surfaces of the two external glass substrates A and C by using the sealing adhesive. Further, the scribe lines 8 coresponding to the size of the cells 4 and 4' are provided on one surface of the inside glass substrate B. Then, those three glass substrates A, B, and C are stacked and after the sealing adhesive are heated and cured, liquid crystal is injected into the obtained lamination structure body through the liquid crystal injection hole 3; and scribe lines are made on the external surfaces of the glass substrates A and C and a stress is applied to divide the structure body, obtaining individual two-layer type liquid-crystal cells.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a two-layer liquid crystal cell using three glass substrates, and particularly relates to a method for manufacturing a two-layer liquid crystal cell using three glass substrates. When injecting liquid crystal into a liquid crystal cell, instead of injecting liquid crystal into each individual liquid crystal cell or dividing it into individual liquid crystal cells, it is injected simultaneously into a group of cells while keeping the original size of the glass substrate. Regarding the method of dividing into individual liquid crystal cells.

As shown in the figure, on each surface, a pattern 1 is used to partition two cells arranged in the longitudinal direction of the glass substrate using sealing adhesive, and an auxiliary chamber 7 is formed to block the cell part from the outside. Printing is coated. This pattern 1 is designed so that when three glass substrates are stacked and bonded together, a liquid crystal injection hole 3, a liquid crystal chamber 4, and an auxiliary chamber 7 are formed.
The 2nd plane and the C1 plane are symmetrical figures. Communication holes 5 and 5' are provided between the liquid crystal injection hole 3 and the first liquid crystal chamber 4 and between the first liquid crystal chamber 4 and the second liquid crystal chamber 4' for continuously injecting liquid crystal. An auxiliary exhaust hole 6 is provided at the end of the second (or final) cell and communicates with an auxiliary chamber 7.

The lines shown in the figure are patterns printed with adhesive for sealing, and the lines -1111 represent scribe lines provided on the surface B. FIG. 3(a) is a cross-sectional view taken along the line 2-2. As shown in the figure, since the glass substrate B has a notched portion of the scribe line, it is assumed that the auxiliary exhaust hole 6 is not provided. Even if it is blocked, leakage will occur in and out of the liquid crystal chamber through this notch.

After the liquid crystal injection is completed, scribe lines 9 shown in FIG. 4 are marked on the upper surface, that is, the A1 surface, and the lower surface, that is, the C2 surface, of the glass substrate laminated structure. Glass substrates A, B and C
The correlation between the scribe lines 8 and 9 stamped on each is as shown in FIG. Next, by applying a strain force along these scribe lines and dividing it, individual liquid crystal cells can be manufactured. The injection hole or communication hole opened by the division is sealed with a sealing adhesive 10 to complete two liquid crystal cells.

The method of manufacturing a two-layer liquid crystal cell according to the method of the present invention uses a glass substrate of a predetermined size, and one layer is placed on the substrate.
Individual or multiple liquid crystal cell chambers are placed on the surface, and liquid crystal is injected into the glass substrate while maintaining its size, and in the case of multiple cells, the liquid crystal is divided into individual cells at the injection edge. Compared to the case where the liquid crystal is injected after dividing, (a) the size of the glass plate to be handled is always constant, and the work efficiency is high as only one cassette for liquid crystal injection is sufficient; (b)
(c) The injection holes of individual cells are not exposed when the injection is complete, so the injection holes are prevented from getting dirty; (c) The injection holes of each cell are not immersed in the liquid crystal boat, so liquid crystal does not adhere to the outside including the dividing surface. , the final sealing work is reliable and easy.
