された複数の間隔板を有するセラミツク製の積層
体を複数個その側板及び間隔板の方向が交叉に直
交するように積層して層毎に直交するガス通路を
多層に形成してなる角柱状の熱交換エレメントを
複数個ケーシング内に配列して構成される直交流
型熱交換器において、上記各熱交換エレメントの
積層方向の各稜を切断して形成されるシール面が
上記全ての積層体の側板の外面が交叉する点より
内側を通り、かつ、熱交換エレメントの側面に対
し４５°の角度をなし、対角位置のシール面に対
し平行で所定の間隔を有する平面とされ、これら
熱交換エレメントをそのシール面に角柱状のシー
ル材を当接せしめた状態でケーシング内に配列し
