Claims

In a valve drive device for an internal combustion engine using a rocker arm having a cam follower and a cam, a cam follower is provided on the rocker arm that drives the intake valve so that the rocker arm can move parallel to the axis of the camshaft, and one intake valve is provided. Two types of cams that share a base circle and have different cam shapes at least after the maximum lift point are installed adjacent to each other, and an actuator that moves the cam follower parallel to the axis of the cam shaft is installed. A valve driving device for an internal combustion engine, comprising a control means for operating the actuator so as to selectively bring the cam follower into contact with either of the two types of cams.
