Abstract

PURPOSE:To prepare solid fuel from wastes, by kneading humidity-conditioned back or crushed waste wood, adding lignin and lime to it and compressing the mixture into shape. CONSTITUTION:Bark or waste wood 1 is crused under impact of a hammer 2. After drying, the crushed raw material is conditioned to a proper moisture content by pouring water and is kneaded by means of a screw conveyer 3. Lignin is added before kneading and lime is added during kneading. The material is forced through a high power screw compressor 4 and formed into shape in molds 6 which constitute outlets 5. The extruded rods are bent and cut by a bending and cutting device 7. Thus solid fuel mainly used in boilers is prepared from waste wood.
