Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable proper correction of a feed distance error, by a method wherein the upper and the lower limit of a stepped roller, being attendant on a feeding distance error occurring between a continuous feed roller and an intermittent feed roller, are detected, and a proper differential motion is caused by a differential motor to exert it on the continuous feed roller so as to properly correct the feeding distance error. CONSTITUTION:With a driving shaft 7 turned under condition in that a motor 11 directly coupled to a differential mechanism 10 is locked, a continuous feed roller 12 and an intermittent feed roller 9 are turned to feed a film 15. If the sizes of the continuous and intermittent rollers 12 and 9 are set to their respective values such that their rotation amounts, proportional to one full turn of the driving shaft 7, coincide with each other, a stepped roller 13 is repeatedly moved up and down, under an ideal condition, at a specified timing and at a certain fixed location.
