Abstract

PURPOSE:To make an indoor unit of a separate type air conditioner small- sized, and to improve the heat exchange efficiency, by attaching an upper heat exchanger wherein the fin pitch is great and a lower heat exchanger wherein the fin pitch is small with the upper and lower heat exchanger slanted with respect to each other, and covering the joined section of them with a sealing material. CONSTITUTION:The upper heat exchanger 3 wherein the fin pitch is great is attached approximately perpendicularly, and the lower heat exchanger 4 wherein the fin pitch is small is attached with the right side slanted upward. Further the space formed between the upper and lower heat exchangers 3, 4 is covered with the planar sealing member 5. Due to this slanting, the height can be made low, and since the space formed between the heat exchangers is covered with the sealing member 5, the sucked air cannot pass without being subjected to heat exchange, and the heat exchange efficiency can be improved.

(Conventional configuration and its problems) Recent full-type air conditioners have a remarkable trend of lower input power and thinner indoor units. To make the heat exchanger thinner, the number of hair pin rows in the heat exchanger is reduced. Therefore, the indoor unit 1- inevitably has a large front surface area, which is contrary to the need for compactness. In addition, in order to cope with this, the original heat exchanger is divided into an upper heat exchanger and a lower heat exchanger, and if they are arranged at an angle to each other, one side of the lower end of the upper heat exchanger and the lower heat exchanger One side of the upper end of the exchanger is in contact with the other, but the other side is spaced apart. When the indoor fan rotates during cooling operation, this joint has almost no ventilation resistance, and the intake air from the front grill through the joint passes intensively without undergoing heat exchange, and is not dehumidified by the evaporator. After passing through the heat exchanger, dew condenses on the fan case, fan, and outlet grille. Also, the air flow rate through the heat exchanger, which is divided into two parts, the upper and lower parts, is relatively 1.
It had the disadvantage that the amount of air passing through some heat exchangers was smaller than that of the lower heat exchanger.

(Structure of the Invention) The present invention divides a heat exchanger into upper and lower halves, attaches the heat exchangers at an angle to each other, provides a sealing member on the side away from the joint, and further provides a fin for the upper heat exchanger. The pitch is larger than the fin pitch of the lower heat exchanger.

In FIG. 1, reference numeral 1 denotes the front grill of the indoor unit, which is made of synthetic resin, and all surfaces except the back are integrally formed. 2 is a main frame that forms the back of the front grill 1;
It is fixed at the bottom of the front grill 1 or at other locations as necessary. 3 is an upper heat exchanger, which is installed almost vertically in this example (= J is cut out); 4 is a lower heat exchanger, which is installed tilted toward the upper right direction; 5 is a two-part heat exchanger 3 and the lower heat exchanger 4, and is a plate-shaped sealing member installed so as to cover the space on the side away from the joint between the heat exchanger 3 and the lower heat exchanger 4.

9b is a lower water receiving bottom, 11 is a wind direction changing grill, and 12 is a drain hose. Furthermore, the fin pitch of the upper heat exchanger 3 is made larger than that of the lower heat exchanger 4.

In the above configuration, if the heat exchanger is installed tilted to the right without dividing the heat exchanger into two, the depth dimension will be A' as shown by the dashed line. By arranging them at an angle to each other, the depth dimension A can be reduced, and the indoor unit can be made thinner. Furthermore, due to the resistance of the sealing member 5 installed to cover the space away from the joint between the upper heat exchanger 3 and the lower heat exchanger 4, suction air that is not subjected to heat exchange passes through the joint in a concentrated manner. It also disappears.

Furthermore, the above configuration can be applied not only to indoor units but also to outdoor knee units. It can be made smaller, the unit body can be made thinner, and the weight can be reduced. In addition, since a sealing member is provided to cover the space on the side away from the joint between the two-part heat exchanger and the lower heat exchanger, the suction air that is not subjected to heat exchange passes through the joint space in a concentrated manner. , the evaporator will not dehumidify, and there will be no condensation on the fan case, fan, outlet grille, etc. Furthermore, by making the fin pitch of the heat exchanger larger than that of the lower heat exchanger, the increase in air flow passing through the upper heat exchanger is eliminated, and the suction air is made uniform throughout! This has the effect of providing a P-like heat exchanger.
