Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the effect of study of a foreign language by giving a time difference to voice signals having a relation such as tow foreign languages or the like and outputting them. CONSTITUTION:Voice signals or the like comprising two languages broadcast with voice multiplex are inputted respectively to input terminals 1a, 1b. The voice signal at the terminal 1a is led to an output terminal 2a as it is, the voice signal at the terminal 1b is led to an output terminal 2b with a prescribed time delay through a delaying device 3 and they are outputted from speakers respectively. For example, the voice in English is outputted and when the voice is listened to accurately and interpreted, the voice in Japanese outputted with some time difference is listened to, then the effect of study is improved.

In recent years, audio multiplex broadcasting using an audio main carrier channel and an audio sub-carrier channel of a television broadcast signal has been carried out. This audio multiplex broadcasting is highly useful, as it is used to convert the audio of music programs into stereo, and to broadcast foreign movies in two languages: the dubbed version and the original language. In particular, the above two-language broadcasts can serve as meaningful teaching materials for foreign language learners.

However, the above-mentioned two-language broadcasts are played back selectively depending on the user's (listener's) selection. Moreover, the original language audio and the dubbed translated audio are broadcast simultaneously. For this reason, even if the above-mentioned audio reproduction device is modified to simultaneously reproduce the original language audio and the translated audio, a learning effect cannot necessarily be expected.

When a Japanese voice corresponding to an English voice saying ``dor 1'' is simultaneously broadcast as ``The embassy is just around the corner to the left,'' listeners will hear F amba.
Before I heard the voice ``ssador,'' I heard the voice ``embassy.'' This is because the language structure is different, and this does not serve as training for learning English. Furthermore, if both audio signals are played back simultaneously in this manner, there is a problem in that it becomes difficult to hear both audio signals accurately.

The present invention has been made in consideration of the above circumstances, and its purpose is to effectively reproduce mutually related audio signals that are simultaneously transmitted, recorded and played back, such as in bilingual broadcasts, etc. An object of the present invention is to provide a highly practical audio playback device that can be useful for language learning and the like.

According to the present invention, one of mutually related audio signals that are simultaneously transmitted or recorded/played and input is delayed for a predetermined time via a delay device, and is output together with the other audio signal.

Thus, according to the present invention, one of the mutually related audio signals is delayed and output with a predetermined time delay with respect to the other audio signal, so that both audio signals can be heard accurately due to the time difference. becomes possible. Moreover, since the other voice, which is the translated word, is not heard before the user understands the voice of -10, the training effect for foreign language learners is not impaired. Furthermore, if the user cannot understand the -10,000 voice, he or she can listen to the other voice, so an immediate learning effect can be expected. Furthermore, since the structure of the present apparatus for performing such regeneration control is simple, it has the advantage of being easy to put into practical use.

FIG. 1 is a schematic diagram of a first embodiment of the apparatus. Audio signals in two languages that are multiplexed and broadcast, or audio signals recorded and reproduced using a video tape recorder, are input to input terminals 1a and 1b. Assuming that the above-mentioned two-language voices are now composed of Japanese and English, which voice is input to the input terminals 1a+7b is determined according to the listener's learning intention. Therefore, the audio signal input to the input terminal 1a is directly guided to the output terminal 2a, and the audio signal input to the other input terminal 1b is delayed for a predetermined time through the delay device 3 and then output. It is led to terminal 2b. A predetermined audio amplifier, speaker, etc. are connected to these output terminals 2a, 2b.

The delay device 3 provides a delay time of about 1 to 3 seconds, for example, due to the tautological differences between English and Japanese.
If the reproduction system for each of the above audio signals is an analog system,
It is constructed using a normal delay line and delay elements such as COD and BBD. It is also possible to use an A/D converter and a D/A converter to convert the audio signal into a digital signal, and apply a delay using a digital signal. Furthermore, if the audio signal reproduction system is a so-called P (Ji system), it goes without saying that this may be directly subjected to delay processing in a digital manner.

According to the present device configured in this manner, for example, after English audio is output, Japanese audio is output with a slight delay. Therefore, once the English voice is accurately heard and interpreted, the user can listen to the Japanese voice that is output with a slight time lag, which increases the learning effect. Furthermore, since the English audio and Japanese audio can be opened at different timings, it is possible to effectively and accurately hear both of them.

By the way, the delay device 3 according to the device of the present invention can also be configured as shown in FIG. That is, the delay device 3 includes a delay circuit 3a that directly delays the audio signal, and an input audio duration detection section 3b that controls the delay time. This detection section 3b detects the duration time of the main audio signal without delay control, and controls the delay time of the audio signal by the delay circuit 3a according to this detection information.

In other words, if the two languages are the aforementioned English and Japanese, linguistically speaking, it is generally sufficient to set a delay time of about 2 to 3 seconds, but for example, Fz'', 0'奄! '', it is sufficient to set the delay time to about 0.5 to 1 second. Conversely, if the sentence is long, it may be better to set a delay time of about 2 to 3 seconds. Therefore, it is advantageous if the duration time of the main audio signal without delay is detected by the length detection section 3b, and the delay time of the other audio signal is controlled in relation to this.

The duration of the input speech can be accurately detected by correcting the speech input period interrupted by the influence of consonants using the monostable multi-bicycle break 13. Therefore, it is possible to variably set the delay time relatively easily.

In such a case, for example, as shown in FIG. 4, a level setter 14 may be used to vary the output level relationship between the two voices. Here, the switch 15 is used to selectively determine whether to extract the level-varied audio signal, the audio signal whose level has not been adjusted, or to block the output thereof.

As explained above, according to the present invention, since mutually related audio signals such as those of bilingual broadcasting are outputted with a time difference, this can be used to produce a great effect in foreign language learning. Moreover, since the device configuration is simple, it can be realized at low cost.
Highly practical. Moreover, it does not interfere with the old problems of normal bilingual broadcasting, so if it is realized as an addresser, for example, it will have a great effect.

Note that the present invention is not limited to the above embodiments. For example, the delay time and signal level may be adjusted as appropriate, and the audio signal is not limited to Japanese and English. In short, the present invention can be implemented with various modifications without departing from the gist thereof.
