端を支持するブラケットと、上記レバーのカム側の一端
を支持し、機関運転条件に応じて供給される油圧により
伸長して、上記レバーの傾斜を制御する油圧アクチュエ
ータとを備えてなり、上記油圧アクチュエータは、上記
ブラケットのシリンダバレル内に摺動自在に嵌挿された
有底円筒状の外筒部と、この外筒部内に摺動自在に配設
され、かつ内部にオイルギヤラリに連通ずる油溜室を有
する内筒部と、この内筒部と外筒部との間に区画形成さ
れた油圧室と、この油圧室内に圧縮配設されたコイルス
プリングと、上記油圧室と油溜室との間に介在された逆
止弁とから構成されてなる内燃機関の吸排気弁駆動装置
に於いて、上記コイルスプリングの反発力を機関始動に
必要なバルブリフト量が得られる太きさとし、かつ上記
外筒部外周面には、上記ブラケット側に取り付けた摩擦
部材を当接したことを特徴とする内燃機関の吸排気弁駆
