PURPOSE:To enable a non-expert to perform a test for subscriber line by providing a subscriber line tester, sound answering device and a test sequence controller which controls an interface circuit, and informing the procedure and the result of the test in sound. CONSTITUTION:A test syste for subscriber line consists of a subscriber telephone 1, subscriber circuit 3, test connection device 4 and a subscriber line tester 5. The device 4 secures the interface between the circuit 3 and the tester 5 when the connection is switched to the tester 5. The tester 5 contains a subscriber line interface circuit 6, subscriber line tester 7, sound answering device 8 and a test sequence controller 9. The controller 9 controls the circuit 6, the tester 7 and the device 8 in accordance with a test sequence.
