Conventionally, in manual or semi-automatic arc welding equipment, an arc is generated between the tip of a welding rod held in a welding holder or the tip of a consumable electrode fed from a welding torch and the workpiece, while the welding holder or The welding torch is moved manually, but the moving speed is kept at a constant value.
Furthermore, in order to increase or decrease the moving speed in response to fluctuations in the welding current or power supply voltage, a high degree of skill and excessive concentration of nerves are required on the part of the welding operator.

Therefore, it is difficult for an unskilled operator 10 or an operator who does not have sufficient concentration to maintain the moving speed of the welding holder or welding torch at a constant value without any discrimination criteria. Furthermore, even if a skilled person concentrates his/her attention, it is difficult to adjust the moving speed of the welding holder according to the welding current or current/voltage fluctuations, and there is a drawback that a constant welding result cannot always be obtained. Therefore, conventionally, a welding speed indicating device has been proposed in which a movable body that gives a desired moving speed is attached with an indicator needle or a light source that can be identified by a welding operator during welding. During welding, the welding speed indicator is often overlooked because the welding point is carefully observed.Furthermore, if the indicator is brought close to the welding line, it will overheat due to arc heat, and conversely, if it is moved away, it may cause damage to the worker. There was a drawback that the error increased depending on the viewing position. 2
5 In view of the above, the present invention proposes a method for determining whether or not the arc welding speed is appropriate, by which it is possible to automatically determine whether or not the moving speed of the welding holder or welding torch is appropriate.

The control circuit 8 supplies voltage to the motor by detecting at least one of the welding current, the arc voltage, the generation of arc light, or the closing of the welding start pushbutton switch, and supplies the voltage to the motor. It is configured to detect at least one of the disappearance of light, a signal from a welding end push button switch, etc., and cut off the voltage supplied to the electric motor. The moving speed of the detector 5 is set in advance in the control circuit 8 at an appropriate speed determined by the cross-sectional area of the groove, the welding current value, etc.

If the fluctuations in the input voltage to the welding machine and motor control circuit are small, or if a power supply voltage fluctuation compensation device is attached and the welding current value and motor supply voltage value are constant, the moving speed of the detector should be adjusted. It suffices to move it by a preset constant value. However, when the power supply voltage fluctuates significantly or the welding current value fluctuates, the moving speed of the detector is increased in accordance with the increase in the amount of deposited metal due to the increase in the power supply voltage, welding voltage, or welding current. The motor control circuit 8 is configured to move the detector at a speed substantially proportional to the power supply voltage, welding current, or welding voltage. Welding current detector 9 A current transformer, reed switch, etc. that outputs signals for controlling the start of movement, movement speed, stop of movement, etc. of the detector 5, and is used to connect the welding machine 2 and the workpiece 1. It is inserted in between and supplies a signal to the motor control circuit 8 while the welding current is being applied. Note that 10 is an AC power source that supplies power to the welding machine 2, control circuits 6, 8, and display 7. During welding, move the detector 5 at an appropriate moving speed.
At the same time, the operator manually moves the welding holder 3 along the welding line 1a while the arc is being generated. If the moving speed of this welding torch is a speed determined in advance by the groove cross-sectional area, welding current value, etc., the detector 5 detects arc light or high temperature and outputs a signal. While detecting light or high temperature, the display control circuit 6 stops outputting, so the display 7 is not operating. This indicator is a display light, a buzzer, a bell, etc. that lights up or blinks depending on the output signal of the indicator control circuit. If the moving speed of the welding holder is too fast or too slow and the corresponding position between the arc light and the detector 5 is shifted and the detector 5 no longer detects the arc light or high temperature, the indicator control circuit 6 will send a signal. is output and the display 7 is operated. When this indicator is activated, the operator only has to increase or decrease the moving speed of the welding holder. The decision whether to increase or decrease the speed of movement of the weld holder can be made by rapidly advancing the weld holder a small amount. That is, when the welding holder is rapidly advanced a little, if the indicator stops operating, it is necessary to increase the moving speed, and if the indicator does not stop operating, it is necessary to decrease the moving speed. It is. If the operator increases or decreases the moving speed of the welding holder while welding when the indicator operates in this way, proper welding can always be performed. Figure 2 shows
FIG. 2 is an explanatory diagram of a case where the objects to be welded 1 and 1 are butted vertically and a welding holder connected to a welding machine 2 is manually moved to implement the method for determining suitability of arc welding speed of the present invention.

In this case, the drive device 4 is constituted by a trolley 4d that has a built-in electric motor 4b and moves the detector 5, and a flexible guide rail 4e. The other details are the same as those in FIG. 1 and will therefore be omitted. In this case, the above guide rail 4e
By attaching magnets to the wheels of the cart 4d, these can be easily fixed to the object to be welded. The operation is the same as that shown in FIG. Note that the display control circuits shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 have a time-limiting element for delay operation, and if the arc light is not detected by the detector temporarily due to camera shake or rocking motion, the display will not operate. I've learned not to. According to the method for determining suitability of arc welding speed of the present invention, when the moving speed of the welding holder or welding torch deviates from the appropriate value, it is automatically displayed, so unlike the determination method using a conventionally proposed device, The welder does not have to pay attention to the movable body moving at a set speed during welding, can always keep a close eye on the molten part, and can also keep an eye on the position of the movable body as seen by the welder. Since there are no errors caused by
This has the effect of reducing worker fatigue.
