In general, an electrode support member in a continuous electroplating line, particularly in a horizontal line, has the function of holding the electrode stationary thereon in the plating solution and supplying current to the electrode through it.

However, in the past, metals such as Pb and Ti have been used as coating materials for electrode support members for electroplating, but when Pb is used as a coating material for electrode support members, the potential of the positive electrode is reduced in the plating solution. When given, PB gradually dissolves, and the properties of the plating film obtained from this plating solution, such as appearance, corrosion resistance, and chemical conversion treatment properties, deteriorate.
When Ti is used as a covering material for an electrode support member, the above three properties are almost satisfied, but there is a problem due to the characteristics of Ti, that is, when a positive electrode potential is applied, the electrode and electrode support member The Ti surface that is not in contact with the electrode becomes passivated at the part, and the amount of electricity supplied increases or decreases, causing the inconvenience that when the potential fluctuates, the passivation film is destroyed and sparks are generated.

This spark causes local pitting corrosion, which increases the number of times the electrode support member must be repaired.

The material metal of the electrode support member for electroplating according to the present invention is C.
WC, Tic, ZrC, etc. can be used as the metal carbide, and one or more of these can be used, and this coating layer has about Thermal spraying, especially plasma spraying, is suitable for coating the metal carbide, but it is also possible to coat the target metal carbide on the raw metal by plating, etc. Carburizing can also be performed to form a metal carbide layer.

As explained above, since the electrode supporting member for electroplating according to the present invention has the above structure, it has good electrical conductivity and does not cause pitting corrosion even if an arc occurs. As a result, the number of repairs to the electrode support member can be significantly reduced, resulting in an improvement in basic unit consumption.Furthermore, the quality of the resulting product is improved because harmful metal ions from the material metal of the electrode support member are not eluted into the plating solution. It is something.
