In a copying machine in which an original is irradiated with an exposure lamp and the reflected light is formed and exposed onto a photoreceptor by an imaging lens having a reflecting mirror inside, a light amount detection device is installed behind the reflecting mirror in the imaging lens. A large number of translucent windows are arranged on the reflective surface of the reflector only in the area facing the light receiving surface of the light amount detection element, and the light transmitted through these windows is transmitted to the light amount detection element. 1. An exposure device for a copying machine, comprising a circuit that detects the detected signal and converts it into an electric signal, and controls the amount of light from the exposure lamp according to the electric signal.
