DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention provides a method for forming a hole in a defective part exposed on the surface of wood having various shapes and dimensions (board thickness, etc.) such as a board, a square lumber, and a log. By press-fitting and embedding wood with a tapered circumferential surface using the central layer of branches or logs of the same species, artificial knots that look like nodules are created in areas where defective areas existed. The present invention relates to a retouched lumber that can be shaped, significantly improves the product value, has no fear of embedded wood falling off, and is extremely easy to manufacture.

The value of wood used as board material, pillar material, or interior wall IA"4 is extremely reduced by the presence of defective parts such as holes, bending bars, and hollow parts. Therefore, such defective parts are removed and repaired, and the quality of the product is reduced. From the viewpoint of improving the product value and product yield, for example, as shown in Fig. 8, a circular hole (b) is provided in the defective part (a), which is a hole tube, etc., and a cylindrical hole (b) is provided in the circular hole (b). A modified timber (d) is provided by embedding an embedded wood (o) formed in a circular hole (b) and fixing the embedded wood (o) in a circular hole (b) using an adhesive. ), the modified wood (d) is made by press-fitting a cylindrical insert (0) into the insert (c) and the circular hole (e).
b) In addition to poor adhesion with the inner circumferential surface (f), the finishing accuracy tends to be poor, and especially when the circular hole (b) is a through hole as shown in the same figure, the embedded wood (,) cannot be pulled out. There was a risk of falling. Furthermore, in order to improve the adhesion between the embedded wood (0) and the circular hole (1,), the diameter of the embedded wood (0) is usually set slightly larger than the inner diameter of the circular hole (b), so the embedded wood ( ,) During press-fitting, the embedded wood (0) did not enter the circular hole (b) smoothly, and as a result, there was a risk that the embedded wood (C) and the circular hole (b) would be damaged. For this reason, the work had to be carried out carefully, resulting in extremely low work efficiency and the mass production of refinished wood was almost impossible.

In FIG. 1, the repaired wood (1) of the present invention has holes (5 holes) drilled in defective parts (3) exposed on the surface (2S) of the wood (2), which is, for example, a board (2a). The embedded wood (6) is press-fitted and embedded.

The embedded wood (6) is a branch material or branch of the same tree species as the board material (2a) (not limited to the same tree species, but also includes tree species with similar physical properties such as expansion and contraction rate), as shown in Figure 3. A columnar body is formed by punching out the center layer portion 01 of a log (9) made by cutting a log with a relatively small diameter and having the same thickness as a log using a press machine as shown in Fig. 4. 0υ, and then finishing the circumferential surface of the columnar body αυ into a tapered shape. On the end surface Q2 of the buried timber (6) thus formed, annual rings are formed approximately concentrically or eccentrically. In addition, the outer diameter of each portion in the longitudinal direction of the embedded wood (6) is larger than the inner diameter of the corresponding portion of the hole (5) when the embedded wood (6) is press-fitted and embedded in the hole (5). It is formed slightly larger. Also, the press attachment is a cylindrical blade with a sharp blade at the tip and a pressing tool 04.

However, when the lower part aO of the insert (6) is inserted into the hole (5) and the large diameter end face (6a) is struck with a hammer or the like, the insert (6) is press-fitted into the hole (5). As shown in Fig. 2, the buried tree (6) has a hole (6S) on its peripheral surface (6S).
The inner circumferential surface (5S) of 5) is slightly pushed outward and embedded tightly, and the embedded wood (6) is completely integrated with the plate material (2a) over its entirety. After the wood embedding (6) is installed, finish it with a plane or the like as appropriate.

In this way, in the modified timber (1) of the present invention, a tapered insert (6) is press-fitted into a circular or tapered hole (5), so a cylindrical insert (6) is inserted into a circular hole as in the conventional method. The case of press-fitting 1 is different from the case of embedding, and as it is inserted, the upper part (T) of the embedment (6) changes so that its circumferential surface (6S) changes to the inner circumferential surface (5) of the hole (5).

) will be firmly and securely embedded. At times, buried wood (6)
When the hole (5) is formed into a tapered shape that matches the shape of the hole (5), the circumferential surface (6S) of the buried wood (6) and the inner circumferential surface (5s) of the hole (5) are completely flattened over their entire surface. Because of the close contact, the embedded wood (6) becomes even stronger and more reliable.

■In addition, since the buried tree (6) is formed using branches of the same tree species as the wood (2) or the center layer of the log, the growth rings are almost concentric with the area where the defective part was. Alternatively, it is possible to form a natural artificial joint that is eccentrically formed.
Significantly improve product value. Moreover, the buried wood (6) is of the same quality as the wood (2), and there is almost no difference in the degree of expansion and contraction between the two, so even if no adhesive is used, the buried wood will be affected by changes in temperature, etc. (6) was defeated,
Or, there is no risk of it floating or falling off.

■As mentioned above, the circumferential surface (6S) of the buried wood (6) and the hole (5)
Since the inner circumferential surface (5S) of the wood (5S) is in close contact with at least the upper part (c) of the buried wood (6), for example, the inner peripheral surface (5S) of the wood (2)
Even if the surface layer is removed using a plane or the like to straighten the warp of the wood, the finished surface will still have a good embedded surface, and there is no risk of the embedded wood falling off.

■Furthermore, since the embedding wood (6) has a tapered shape, unlike when using a conventional cylindrical embedding wood, the lower part α0 of the embedding wood (6) can be easily inserted into the hole (5). Therefore, it is possible to streamline the work of press-fitting the buried wood (6) and to mass-produce modified timber (1).
Since there is no fear that the embedded wood (6) and the hole (5) will be damaged during press-fitting, the modified wood (1) of uniform quality can be obtained.

As described above, in the modified wood of the present invention, circular or tapered holes are bored in defective parts such as rows, doors, and wfis exposed on the surface of wood such as square lumber, and in the holes, Using branches of the same tree species as the above-mentioned wood or the center layer of logs with a relatively small diameter, the wood is formed into a tapered shape, and as a result of press-fitting and embedding the lumber at a temperature of °C, a relatively large defective part can be filled with lumber. Even if a defective part exists, it is possible to form an artificial knot that looks just like a raw rice cake and does not look out of place with the surrounding area, which not only significantly improves the product value, but also makes the embedded wood strong and reliable. Since it is embedded in the wood, there is no risk of it falling off, and manufacturing is extremely simple since it uses tapered wood.

In addition, in the modified timber of the present invention, the depth of the hole to be drilled for embedding the embedded wood is not limited to a through hole, but may be a blind hole as long as the depth of the hole is such that the embedded wood can be processed without hindrance. It is not particularly necessary to cover the entire defective area. Further, the hole (5) does not necessarily need to be bored perpendicular to the surface (2S) of the wood (2), and may be formed at an angle as shown in FIG. When the holes are drilled at an angle like this, oval-shaped knots are formed on the surface of the wood. In addition, Figure 7 shows square timbers (2
This is the case when wood (2), which is b), is treated with wood embedding.

Since the surface and the inner circumferential surface of the hole are in perfect contact with each other over the entire surface, even when wood that has been filled with wood is cut to a predetermined thickness, the piece of wood that has been cut into the hole will be press-fitted into the hole. It goes without saying that a piece of wood formed by cutting in this way also corresponds to the modified wood according to the present invention.
