Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a device which can make effective use of heat energy and can maintain an annealing furnace and a cooling water tank at an adequate temp. by connecting a gas combustion chamber sectioned of in the cooling water tank for an annealed metallic wire rod and the annealing furnace which heats the metallic wire rod by means of a combustion gas discharging pipe. CONSTITUTION:A gas combustion chamber 13 which is sectioned by a partition wall 12 is provided in a cooling water tank 11, and a heat exchange is effected between the combustion gas 5 burned in said chamber and the cooling water in the tank 11. The chamber 13 and the part around the top end of an annealing furnace 16 are connected by means of a discharging pipe 5 for the gas which is cooled by the above-mentioned heat exchange to an adequate heat treatment temp. The inside of the furnace 16 is thus maintained at the discharging temp. of the gas 5 and on the other hand, the cooling water in the tank 11 is maintained at an adequate temp. Therefore a metallic wire rod 1 of copper, Al, etc. is run in the direction of the arrow and is annealed in the furnace 16 and cooled in the tank 11, whereby the wire rod is heat-treated easily to a desired annealed state.
