Abstract

PURPOSE:To print a dot of a desired shape with the attaching of a recording material made of a colored conductive resin by melting it with current flowing through an electrode provided at the contact with a recording paper when one end of the recording material contacts the recording paper. CONSTITUTION:A resin easy to melt by heat is colored with the addition of a dye and imparted a conductivity with the addition of a conductive powder to form a recording material 102, which is pressed against a recording paper 101 at one end thereof being supported with an insulating material 103. A current flows through the recording material 102 through electrodes 104a and 104b from a recording current source 105 and melts the recording material 102 to be attached to the recording paper 101.

<Operation of the Invention> In the above-described configuration, by outputting a recording current from the recording current source 105, a current flows to the recording material 102 via the electrodes 104a and 104b. This current causes the recording material 10
Joule heat is generated in the recording material 102, and only the portion of the recording material 102 where the current flows is melted, and the melted portion adheres to the recording paper 101 as shown as 201 in FIG. Therefore, it is possible to print dots on the recording paper 101 that have a cross-sectional shape equal to y in the cross-sectional shape of the recording material 102. By arranging a large number of these print heads in a direction perpendicular to the paper feeding direction 106 of the recording paper 101 and applying a recording current to a head located at an arbitrary position among the print heads, analog waveforms can be created by forming figures, characters, and symbols. etc. can be recorded.

FIG. 4 shows a specific embodiment in which the recording material 102 is pressed against the recording paper 101. In FIG. In this example, an outlet 402 for the recording material 102 is formed at the peripheral edge of a flat disc-shaped case 401, and a rotating shaft 402 is formed at the center of the disc-shaped case 401.
3 is provided, and this rotating shaft 403 is rotationally biased in the expanded clockwise direction in this example by, for example, a spring 404. One end of the recording material 102 stored in a spiral shape is attached to the rotating shaft 403, and a biasing force is applied to the other end of the recording material 102 stored in a spiral shape in the direction of protruding outward from the outlet 402. The following shows the configuration. Reference numeral 405 indicates a lid that is placed over the case 401.

A conceivable structure is to consider the case 401 containing the recording material 102 as one cartridge, and to support this cartridge in a detachable manner with respect to the printing pad. FIG. 5 shows an example. A hole is formed on the back side of the insulating material 103 constituting the print head, and an outlet 402 formed protruding from the case 401 is fitted into this hole. With this fitting, p case 401
is supported relative to the print head, and further projects the end of the recording material 102 toward the recording paper 101 through a pore communicating with the hole.

By storing the recording material 102 in the case 401 in this manner, the recording material 102 can be easily replaced. Therefore, by storing recording materials of different colors in the case 401, it is possible to easily change the printing color of the recording head.

In the example shown in FIG. 4, the recording material 102 is stored in a spiral shape in the case 401, but as shown in FIG. You may also rotate it. In this case, there is an advantage that the diameter of the case 401 can be reduced.

FIG. 7 shows another embodiment of the invention. In this example, a metal piece or a conductive portion 7 with good conductivity is provided at the end end of the recording material 102.
01 is attached, and this conductive portion 701 is connected to the electrode 104.
A case is shown in which the configuration is such that when a short circuit is made between a and 104b, it is indicated that the recording material 102 is running out.

In FIG. 7, 702 indicates this display circuit. The display circuit 702 can be configured as follows, for example. A series circuit consisting of a resistor 703 and a constant voltage diode 704 is connected to both ends of the recording current source 1050, and a constant voltage is generated in the constant voltage diode 704 every time a recording current is output from the recording current source 105. A series circuit consisting of a light emitting element 705 and a light emitting element 706 is connected in series with the recording current source 105 and the electrodes 104a and 104b of the recording head. A series circuit of electrodes 104a and 104b is connected to the emitter of the tB transistor 705, and the electrodes 104a and 1 connect the base of the transistor 7050 to the connection point between the resistor 703 and the voltage regulator diode 704.
When the recording material 102 is present between the transistors 04b and 04b, the resistance value of the recording material 102 is connected in series with the emitter of the transistor 705, so that the current flowing through the transistor 705 is limited. Therefore, the light emitting element 706 does not light up in this state.

Near the end of the recording material 102, when the conductive portion 701(7) reaches between the electrodes 104a and 104b, a bias voltage in the saturation region is applied to the transistor 705. As a result, a saturation current flows through the transistor transistor 05, and the light emitting element 706 lights up.

Also, unlike ink, there is no risk of staining or clogging, so maintenance is easy. Moreover, many types of colors can be prepared. Further, by providing a large number of print heads, there are advantages such as being able to perform surface recording at once, and this effect is extremely great in practical use.
