Abstract

PURPOSE:To raise thickness of color of printed letters without reducing the speed of ink drying by making the surface layer or inside of an ink jet recording paper contain a kind of phenols or a solid aromatic carboxylic acid. CONSTITUTION:A kind of phenols such as hydroquinone, pyrogallol, catechol, resorcinal, phthalic acid, maleic acid, etc. or an aromatic carboxylic acid is applied on the surface of a paper or mixed in the material of the paper through the paper manufacturing process. A recording paper thus obtained is used to perform jet recording with water ink, in which the dyestuff of flying minute ink drops does not permeate into the inside of the recording paper by contacting with the reacting matter in the paper. In this way images with high color thickness in printed letters are obtained.

Conventionally, in inkjet recording, there has been a desire for an inkjet recording paper on which ink dries quickly and can form clear prints with high density, but no paper that can satisfy this demand has yet been obtained. In other words, when recording paper with good ink absorption and fast drying speed, such as unsized paper, is used as recording paper, the ink does not stay on the surface layer but is absorbed into the interior and spreads over a flat surface. This causes the dye to bleed. For this reason, it was not possible to obtain clear print with a density of (1). When high-quality paper or plain paper with relatively low ink absorption and densely entangled paper fibers is used as recording paper to increase print density, the ink dries slowly and can damage the user's hands and clothing. Made it dirty. In addition, attempts have been made to increase the amount of dye added to the ink in order to increase the printing density, but in this case, the ink cannot be stably ejected because the nozzles become clogged, especially when the ink ejection is stopped.

In conventional inkjet recording, the pore size is 0.5 to 1
The tiny droplets of dye that have passed through the μ filter come into contact with the reactive substances on the recording paper and aggregate, so they do not penetrate into the recording paper. Furthermore, since the hiding power is extremely high, images with high print density can be obtained.

In the inkjet recording paper of the present invention, in order to contain the reactant of the phenol or the aromatic carboxylic acid of the solid acid in the paper surface layer or inside, the reactant-containing surface layer can be formed by a conventionally known method such as a liquid coating method. The reactive substance may be formed on the surface of the paper by a method, or the reactant may be mixed into the paper material during the paper manufacturing process. The paper used in the present invention may be any paper that has been conventionally used as recording paper.

Examples of the aromatic carboxylic acid of the phenol or solid acid used in the present invention include hydroquinone, pyrogallol, catechol, resorcinol, oxyhydroquinone, phloroglucin, phthalic acid, pyromellitic acid, benzoic acid, or maleic acid, but not necessarily. This limitation includes water-based inks containing acid dyes. These aqueous solutions exhibit alkalinity and maintain a good dissolved state, and maintain a stable jetting state without clogging the filter or nozzle during long-term continuous or intermittent jetting. When it comes into contact with it, it forms an aggregate with great hiding power.

Improving the image quality by using the existing ink as is The recording paper of the present invention was obtained by coating the paper surface and drying it. When printed on the recording paper thus obtained using an inkjet recording device manufactured by Ricoh, characters with higher reflection density and less blurring were obtained than characters printed on Punto paper that was not subjected to the above treatment. Further, there was no change in the drying time of the ink. The composition of the ink (6) used for printing was C, 1 as a dye, and acid black 1.
