Claims

A heater unit is provided for guiding at least a portion of the cooling water that has taken heat from the engine through a cooling water passage and heating the interior of the vehicle using the heat held in the cooling water as a heat source. A closed-loop heat pipe filled with liquid is connected to the passage by a closed-loop heat pipe that has an evaporating part on the side of the exhaust passage located at a low place and a condensing part on the side of the cooling water passage located at a high place. In a rapid heating system for an automobile, which has a valve that opens and closes depending on the temperature of the engine cooling water interposed in the liquid return pipe from the condensing part to the evaporating part, the valve is a normally open type solenoid valve when the engine is stopped.
