Abstract

PURPOSE:To couple bar-like members firmly and easily by mounting a ferrule rest metallic plate having sufficient width for placement of a ferrule on the end face of a bar-like member, and subjecting another bar-like member to said member to arc stud welding through said metallic plate. CONSTITUTION:Supporting members 2a, 2b are fitted in the lower part of the end face 1 of a bar-like member A made of steel to grasp the end face thereof. The top surface part 3 of the members 2a, 2b has sufficient width for placement of a ferrule 9. Grasping rest parts 4 of a diameter smaller than that of the part 3 are mounted to the lower side of said part by means of a clamping means 7. A ferrule rest metallic plate 6 is inserted to detaining means 5 and is placed on the end face of the member A. The ferrule 9 is placed on the plate 6, and a bar-like member B coated with a flux 8 on the end face 1 is inserted and the arc is generated between this and the plate 6, whereby the members are stud- welded. Both bar-like members A, B are melted and bound by such welding. The ferrule 9 is cracked and removed.

By the way, arc stud welding has become popular in recent years due to its high strength and ease of work.If this welding method is used for butt welding studs made of bar-shaped steel materials, , the conventional problems mentioned above can be solved. However, this arc stud welding requires a 7-ferrule with a much larger diameter than the stud, and when steel bars of approximately the same diameter are butted together, there is no place to receive the ferrule, so conventionally arc stud welding has not been possible. It has been considered impossible.

This invention was made in the ninth attempt to solve the above-mentioned conventional problems, and includes a rod-shaped member having a width sufficient to place a ferrule tube on the end surface of one of the rod-shaped members serving as the welding base material.
A ferrule receiving metal plate is attached, the metal plate is penetrated, and the other rod-shaped member is butt-welded to it by arc-stud welding, and the butt-joint of the rod-shaped members is made strong and strong using arc-stud welding. This is an attempt to make it easier to perform.

After attaching the support members 2a * 2b to one of the rod-shaped members A, the ferrule receiving metal plate 6 is then attached to the holder 5.
Place it on the end surface of the rod-shaped member A while inserting it into the inside (see FIG. 1(b)). Next, the other rod-shaped member B is welded to one of the rod-shaped members. To do this, a 7 lux 8 is provided on the end surface of the other rod-shaped member B, as shown in FIG. The ferrule 9 is placed on the ferrule receiving metal plate 6, the rod-shaped member B is inserted from above, and an arc is generated between this and the ferrule receiving metal plate 6 to perform stud welding. As a result, both rod-shaped members A and B are melted through the ferrule receiver blade plate 6t, and the first

3 and 4 show other embodiments as a means for weiring the ferrule receiving metal plate 6. In the embodiment shown in FIG. The annular collar piece 11 is made of a light material. In this case, the ferrule receiving metal plate 6 is attached to the bar member A with the collar piece 11.
It can be installed by simply moating. In the embodiment shown in FIG. 4'', a counting piece 6a formed integrally with the ferrule receiving metal plate 6 is bent downward and inward from the outer periphery of the ferrule receiving metal plate 6. In this case, , ferrule receiving metal [6
is clamped to the rod-shaped member by the elasticity of the clamping piece 6a.

FIG. 5 shows still another embodiment of the ferrule receiving metal plate 6, in which a hole 6b having a smaller diameter than the rod-shaped member A is provided in the center of the metal plate 6. If this is done, an arc will be formed directly between the side rod-shaped members A and B, the welding time will be shortened, and the welding condition will be better. It goes without saying that this embodiment can also be used in each of the previously described embodiments.

As explained above, in the present invention, when rod-shaped members having approximately the same diameter are butt welded together, one of the rod-shaped members is used as the welding base material, a ferrule receiving metal plate is applied to the end face of the welding base material, and the ferrule receiving metal plate is applied to the end face of the welding base material, and the welding is performed by penetrating this metal plate. The other rod-shaped member is butt-welded by arc stud welding, so that butt welding of rod-shaped members of approximately the same diameter, which was considered impossible in the past, can be done strongly and easily by arc stud welding. Compared to conventional lap welding and gas pressure welding,
This has the effect of greatly reducing consumption costs and welding time and effort. In addition, the 7-erule receiving metal plate can be attached to the bar-shaped base material without falling off, so it can be welded horizontally and even when the base material is in the opposite direction. can be carried out, and its scope of application is extremely wide.
