Abstract

PURPOSE:To make a thermal printer possible to print at high speed by improving a preheating efficiency by composing of a transfer head adjacently equipped to a magnetic substance and a platen consisting of a good electric conductor plate attached onto a magnetic pole of a magnetic substance to which an alternating magnetic field is applied. CONSTITUTION:Applying an alternating magnetic field onto the C-shaped magnetic body 3 equipped on a platen 6, generating a magnetic field loop between the magnetic body 3 and a magnetic body 1 adjacently equipped to a transfer head 2, by which preheating of a transfer layer of a transfer media 9 located immediately below the transfer head 2 by utilizing heat generated by eddy-current caused by magnetic flux change through a good electric conductor plate 5 which is located immediately below the transfer head 2 and forms the top surface of the platen 6 is accomplished. Accordingly, less temperature change of the transfer head is available at the time of recording, so that a high speed printing can be obtained as well as durability of the transfer head can be improved. EFFECT:Because of utilizing a heat generation of a magnetic field, it is easy to make an apparatus smaller, and it is also easy to thermally control of preheating a transfer layer.

Is the transfer-type heat-sensitive recording method attracting attention in the Shimiiso field recently?
However, this method uses heat to melt carbon black (heat-melting ink) hardened with wax. It is difficult to print at high speed due to the rapid heating by the transfer head, and by increasing the voltage of the transfer head and shortening the energization time, the speed can be increased.
The durability of the head deteriorates, and the use of the preheating device's sound increases speed and increases the size of the device. There were some drawbacks, such as poor efficiency.

By the way, the magnetic body 3 of the platen 6 is crossed by the coil 4.
When the Il magnetic field is applied, a loop of magnetic field is created between the magnetic body 3 of the platen 6 and the magnetic body 1 adjacent to the transfer head 2,
A good conductor plate 5 located directly below the transfer head inside the transfer head generates heat due to iron loss (generation of eddy current) due to changes in the magnetic field. As the good conductor plate 5 heats up, the recording paper 1 comes into contact with it.
0, the transfer layer 7 of the transfer medium 9 is heated. At this time, by selecting a strong magnetic field to be applied to the magnetic material 3, the temperature is maintained at a temperature slightly lower than the melting point of the transfer layer 7 due to thermal erosion (a temperature at which the transfer layer 7 does not melt due to heat generation only by iron powder). Do it like this. If such a soft wire is applied to the transfer head 2, the temperature of the transfer layer 7 has already been preheated to near its melting point, so that transfer can be performed with a small amount of human power. That is,
In conventional transfer heads, due to the temperature change shown in Figure 3, it does not take a long time to raise the temperature of the transfer layer of the transfer medium to the transfer temperature, but it requires a large amount of input to lower the temperature. On the other hand, in the apparatus according to the present invention, as shown in FIG. 4, since the temperature of the transfer layer can be raised in advance to a certain temperature, the transfer can be performed by simply raising the temperature a little more by the transfer head 2. and transfer head 2
High-speed printing is possible without adding large amounts of human power.

Note that it is convenient to place the magnetic body 1 on the side of the transfer head 2 in the printing progress direction because it will be preheated first.
What is necessary is to provide the magnetic body 1 in the inside of the body.

As clearly explained above, according to the present invention, three magnetic bodies are provided on the platen 6, an alternating magnetic field is applied thereto, and the magnetic body 3 and the magnetic body l provided in contact with the transfer head 2 are By generating a loop of magnetic field between the transfer heads 21 and 13, the heat generated by the eddy current generated by the magnetic flux change in the highly conductive plate 51! Transfer medium 9 below
Because it is possible to pre-SV the transfer layer of #i, the temperature change of the transfer head during recording can be reduced.
Fast printing is possible and the durability of the transfer head is also improved. Since the heat generated by the magnetic field between the magnetic body 1 and the platen 6, which move down together with the rad 2 to the transfer, is utilized, the device can be made smaller in size, and preheating and printing can be done easily. Preheating can be done at the same time, making preheating more efficient.
Since only the area immediately below the transfer head Z is heated in a backward manner, the temperature of the preliminary heating of the transfer layer 7 can be easily controlled.
