Abstract

PURPOSE:To form a high-speed and low power printer with a low maintenance cost while preventing deterioration in the quality of print picture due to degrading of a head by arranging a printer capable of performing a recording operation in both directions with respect to the bidirectional movement of a serial head to extend the life of the head. CONSTITUTION:A serial head which perform a recording by applying a signal between adjacent ones of a plurality of recording needles 11a and 11b employing an energization type heat transfer recording system is used and performs a recording on one side at a time with respect to the bidirectional movement of the head body thereby enabling the recording in both directions. Then, a recording head 14 is equipped with the recording needles 11a and 11b on both sides of an electrode substrate and the surface contacting a heat transfer film 7 can be identified depending on the direction at which the head body moves. Thus, the life of the head can be extended along with a reduction in the maintenance cost.

When an appropriate voltage is applied between the recording needles 2-a and 2-b, a current 8 flows through the resistive layer 4, Geel heat is generated in the resistive layer 4, and the ink melted from the ink layer forms dots on the transfer paper. 9 is printed. The recording head part of the printing device - the serial head has n recording needles arranged in a row in the sub-scanning direction. ) is transferred individually, and horizontal line recording is completed. (First step) After that, the serial head is returned to its original position, and at the same time, the transfer paper for one line that has been recorded is fed out. (Second
Process) The first process and the second process were repeated in sequence to complete the recording of the autumn equinox on the transfer paper.

In the conventional method, the serial head contacts the transfer paper at an appropriate angle, so even if the contact is good in one direction, the contact is poor in the opposite direction. Recording can only be performed in one direction. Also, if you move it in the opposite direction, excessive force may be applied between the board and the recording needle.
The problem was that it peeled off.

Furthermore, these drawbacks required extra time for the serial recording head to move in one direction without recording. These have been problems in increasing the speed and reducing energy consumption of conventional printing apparatuses using serial heads.

The present invention has been made to solve these problems, and its purpose is to provide a printing device that can perform recording operations in both directions when the serial head moves in both directions, and to extend the life of the recording head. An object of the present invention is to solve the problem of deterioration of printed image quality due to head deterioration and to provide a high-speed, low-power, low-maintenance printing device.

The printing device of the present invention uses an energized thermal transfer recording method, and uses a serial head that has a plurality of recording needles and performs recording by applying a signal between adjacent recording needles, so that the head body can move in both directions. However, recording is also done in both directions. To this end, as shown in Figure 3, the recording head is equipped with the recording needles on both surfaces of the electrode substrate, so that the surface that contacts the thermal transfer film can be determined depending on the direction in which the head body moves. It is characterized by

The printing device of the present invention has a plurality of recording needles attached to both sides of the electrode substrate, so that the serial heads on one side can be used for recording in both directions, making it possible to record in both left and right directions. Therefore, the speed at which recording on one sheet of transfer paper is completed is quick, and improvements in speeding up can be achieved.

Also, unlike the conventional serial head, which has multiple recording needles on only one side, the recording head of the present invention, which has multiple recording needles on both sides, requires only half the workload.
This also extends the life of the head and reduces maintenance costs.
